v Hereford

Pleased we won as I thought this would be a tough one after Hereford's recent good results. Didn't sound like the most entertaining match but it's the points that count! Hopefully now 2 unbeaten we can go on a run, with Banbury next who are second bottom it's a game we've got to be looking to win.

Thoroughly deserved win against a decent Hereford team whose only major fault (playing-wise) was a lack of a good finisher. Great to see Ed Smith back on form as well.

Great feeling after the game as well, as their fans are the vilest bunch I've ever encountered whilst supporting STFC. That coupled with the players' punch-up after the match, they'll make no friends at all.

Every player played their part in what was a terrific team performance.

Yorkie and Billie Jeffreys were solid at the back ably assisted by Fraser and Parso.

In midfield Clurgy was back to his best, Knighty had his best game to date for us and Ben Edwards hardly put a foot wrong.

Up front Hatchett was a constant thorn in the side of the Hereford defense and Ed Smith looked like he was back to his best with Dobbo supplying some great balls into the box.

Very difficult to choose a MOTM as there were several candidates but more than happy to go along with the match sponsors selection of Reese Yorke.

Very disappointing to see that the Hereford players were such bad losers which made the win all the more satisfying.

Good to see Ed Smith back to his best.He was my MOTM. His loan move has done him some good and when he reins in his temper and puts his mind to the job in hand,he is a class act up front and great to watch in action.

Definitely his best game this season.

A good all round effort by the Slough team tonight.A well deserved 3 points and hopefully we've turned a corner from our poor displays of late[not including 2nd half against Cambridge].

Great performance by the whole team last night. Good to see Smith back to his best, same with a few others. The relief when they scored that second goal was obvious in their celebration, knowing that they'd finally got a win to put the bad patch to bed.

Some of the passing in the first half was as good as we've seen all season, but we still maybe need to pull the trigger a bit earlier. Great finish from Ed through the legs of the keeper. Second half the game got bogged down with no one really taking control of it but in the end we grabbed the control and got the goal, great ball over the top and the set up from Dobbo was fantastic.

Hopefully we can carry that sort of form forwards into 3 tricky away games, particularly with players coming back from injury. Great news also to hear that Rumbold has signed his forms and will be back in 4 weeks.

Seemed the ref did manage to get control of the situation at the end of the game, issuing one straight red and a second yellow to two of their players and a yellow card to Knight.

Maybe we don't want Hereford to go out of business just yet now we've got 4 points off them? ;)

Also, there's coach info for the next 3 games on the Trust website.

Not sure I agree with you there Dan. I thought we were very good second half and it was the first time in a long time we looked in control of a match. We had a little nervous patch towards the end before we got the second but I was very impressed. We didn't look like we might concede every time they went forward and the clean sheet was almost as welcome as three points. Good performances from everyone in a Slough shirt.

Some of the Hereford players antics were embarrassing - the diving and play acting. I didn't see it, but several people mentioned the spitting incident which is disgusting if true. Hopefully some of the unsavoury stuff was caught on camera. Pleased our lads kept their discipline.

I found the game very entertaining with some decent football on show.

Hopefully we've learnt to ignore league placings.

Hitchin only got the best of Banbury after they had a man sent off. It will be another tough game.

Superb team performance and 3 points toboot.

I also thought Alex in goal looked more confident and made some important saves early on and

Can.t remember them having any shots at goal in the second half.

The reality is we are never world beaters when we win and we're not a pub team who we lose. Last season we had a few off games too but got back on track. In this higher league it's not surprising we'll have some poor games occasionally, especially considering the crazy injury list we've had.

I thought the team last night were superb from the off and could have had the game finished off way before our second goal.

I also felt a little sorry for the Hereford goalkeeper and one or two of their other players who expressed disappointment/disgust at the actions of some of their own players.

Important games to come.......keep the faith. COYR.
