v Redditch

I feel sorry for Jon Underwood. He will be hurting right now. What was disappointing for me and of course, him, was the lack of gumption and effort the players gave today.Apart from Jake Parsons,Dobbo and Adam Cash, the others were shambolic and need a dressing down for their woeful performances.

Thought Redditch were a half decent outfit but we didn't do ourselves justice.

On the positive side,on today's game,Scott Harris is a better defender than striker ! I wouldn't single Scott out, though,as all our strikers were naff.

What was pretty obvious at the match,is that we sorely need a captain/leader of men on the field of play.Jamie McClurg is a class player and one of my favourites but he is not skipper material.

Luke Knight can have no complaints about being subbed as he was ineffective but harsh to be hard on him when he is clearly rusty and has just come back from injury.

1-7 is an embarrassing scoreline but we will bounce back and I dare say Bakes will be getting sloshed on the vino now, after pulling his hair out watching Twitter !

Think Unders will be left wondering how he got the short straw on his watch today but can hardly be blamed for players being so off their usual game.

think you do have to give huge credit to Redditch. they showed superb workrate, energy and determination and the fact they went full on 100% till the end is probably why they ended up with so many goals. most teams would have eased off and cruised last 20 mins or so. some very intelligent attacking movement making chances happen by exploiting the space and being ruthless

Absolutely outplayed and humiliated.

The injury list is a fact but we stilll had 7/8 first teamers out there and most went absent too often...............................passing     poor, defending. worse, and out of touch strikers .................

Major surgery looks necessary..................................some of them just not good enough for this league----- we all know  who they are

I do think today showed that we have some gaps that need filling. We just couldn't keep hold of the ball and were completely outclassed

I wouldn't agree that we need wholesale changes but we missed Yorke today. I think once we have Yorke foulser and smith back it will sure up a few of our gaps

Onwards and upwards. Still a very good start to life at step 7

I don't agree major surgery is needed. The same players have showed they can be up to task.Only two games ago people were saying we were worldbeaters.

Let's be realistic,we are only a quarter of the way through the season and as much as 1-7 is a terrible result,Slough didn't get any luck either, with Johnny Dyer's early incurred injury and the rub of the green.

We were also missing Reece Yorke, who's been a rock at the heart of the defence and Ryan Parsons, who is one of the most experienced players in our team and an astute player.

Also when/if Ed Smith hits form,he and Johnny Dyer make things happen and link our play, which was sadly missing today.

Redditch are a good side but on any other day,we have a team that will run them close or even beat them.So let's not go over the top and be so despairing..

Completely agree, some people have over reacted. So far this season we have never been able to get our first choice XI to start a single game.

not once have we really been able to go into a game without at least one important player being unavailable through injury (not counting Warren or Foulser) and for the whole season so far we have been without, the previously mentioned, the first choice captain and also last years player of the season. Despite all this we are still in 10th place being 8 points clear of relegation and 7 points off play offs.

If we were in or around the relegation zone then stating some players aren't up to it would be understandable, but we are far from that. In fact we have put in a couple of great performances and held our own against teams like Poole and Weymouth who will be aiming for promotion, Weymouth had said we were the best team they had played for a while.

Adrian Sear tweeted something along the line of 'we win together we lose together' and no matter what anyone says about players , formation or opposition we are Slough Town through and through. Let's remember this , forget today and move on.

The problem is Warren that we can go to Weymouth and achieve a very respectful 3-2 and 2-1 at Poole, but then a few weeks later at home get turned over 1-7.

If it was Poole or Weymouth hammering us I would expect that as part of being the new boys to this league.

It was also the way in which we bent over and took it, we even provided the Vaseline, that was disappointing.

On a positive, the crowd did not get on the players backs as they could see this would not help.

I do have to question some of the other posts on this thread for naming players - it is for the management to address the individuals.

Adrian Sear looks captain material to me.Hope Jamie is not angered by this statement but I think his natural game is suffering, when things aren't going well.

Yesterday Unders tried to stir Clurgy up but not sure he's a bloke used to giving orders or taking them. Not all of us are.

That said sometimes you don't have to be mouth almighty to lead.

Jamie obviously carries a lot of respect from the managers and the players who know him well but we need to galvanise the team spirit we have and find a motivator on the field of play.

Adrian Sear might be that man.

To add to my last posting, yesterday we were crying out for a player not afraid to get stuck in and put himself about. In the same mould as a Darren Wilkinson type of player.A roll up their sleeves/never say die type of character.Unfortunately we never got one!

I like the way you've expressed yourself here,Rebel1965 and the first four lines I'm in total agreement with. However, can't agree with you about naming players,as it is near impossible not to.Besides, all comment is a matter of opinion and counts for nothing,as it's our joint managers that call the shots.

After a 7-1 drubbing I think the fans are entitled to let off some steam off on here. That is one of the reasons for a forum. If no one questions anything,we might as well be sheep not humans!

Mr Rebel,I agree that Redditch worked their socks off for the win.Funny enough,I thought they were similar to how we play normally!

One thing I did think, though, was they were a better team when they were ahead in the score but when we equalized,at first they were jittery, too and had we taken the lead, the end result may have a totally different complexion to the one that finally materialized.

Belief in your abilities and confidence are hard things to come by when you're behind in the game.

I was thinking about what was going wrong yesterday during the game.  I think this is the result of near enough 1000 miles travelling in the space of 2 weeks and the effects this had on the injuries and players struggling for fitness after injury.  Yes it's incredibly frustrating but we showed some class by clapping the players off at the end.

While none of us expected this to happen yesterday, I think it's fair to say that at some point we would be taken apart against one of the teams in this league, just like at some point we will do the same to some other team.  We know that this season will be full of ups and downs, and there's still been many more ups than downs, even in defeat.

We may want to let off steam and have opinions on what went wrong and what needs to change, but we all just need to trust the managers, the vast majority of us still know that they are doing the right things and things will come good.  They will make changes if they think that changes need to be made to improve the squad.  Fair play to Jon for going through with the interview and being so honest.

Adrian Sear definitely said it best in his tweet.  We move on to Tuesday and Saturday and back the lads no matter what.
