vauxhallman
I hope the board of directors are pleased that supporters seem to have taken note of there views on fans abusing the officials by ignoring the officials as they left the field last night after yet again in my opinion a very poor referee. How he failed to see the four arm smash by there keeper on our player is beyond me.Well done to the fans that kept there cool at the final whistle not even a boo. littlehampton
Yes, and well done to The Town on our cup win last night. So far there have been no comments posted about the match, performance and result. Sounds like quite a close match, pleased that we kept a clean sheet. Was it a good match, did we deserve our win, what was the attendance figure? Interested to hear your thoughts and comments. Also, note that we have been drawn at home to Hendon or Wingate & Finchley in the next round. Nice to have home advantage. Who would we prefer? Had we lost the reaction would probably have been different from the usual suspects, some of whom were there last night.

NowhereMan
Can someone please explain what they hope to achieve by abusing the officials at the end of a game. It doesn't change the result or a decision. Of course officials make decisions that don't suit us from a subjective viewpoint but are probably correct and at times they cock up. Unfortunately some people's reasons for going to football matches is to moan for 90 mins (and beyond) at the officials regardless of their performance. There are also fans who don't know the niceties of the laws yet that doesn't seem to stop them having a go anyway. Believe me an official knows when he's had a bad game (i always knew) but they have fewer bad games than the perception is. I know most people won't agree with me but if you are able to look at it objectively there's an element of truth in what I've said. And yes I am a Towner. lovely stuff
One of the perks of going to an 'admission charging' football fixture is the option to let off steam and shout at the top of your voice. All for the price of a couple of pints of beer. Its good therapy for some and the referee (and assorted annoying characters from the opposition), can be the focal panto villians..Thats all part of the entertainment,(and lets face it, sometimes games are so dull that you do have to make up your own entertainment, believe me!.Where just a few go over the top is with the use of F&C words and adding personal threats..Just digging out the ref for some awful decision or clipping the feathers a big time charlie centre-back is part of the fun of non-league football, but lets keep it within limits

thecoldend
Ref was excellent at Wednesday night's u21game. Played advantage a number of times and only booked players who needed to be. It was nice to watch a game without 'f***ing ell refereeeeeeeeee' after some of the decisions. I accept at footy there will always be swearing as we'll never eradicate it but as i bring my lad now alot (who is now 7) people need to think before they shout. I don't want him hearing it... he is young and asks alot of questions. By all means shout, sing and be loud but think before you swear etc... we are trying to attract young fans to Donkey Lane.
