Krooner
The 4g is meant to be online in Jan 2015. I am led to believe it takes about 13 weeks to lay it all. I am a huge critic of our council but this is the 2nd decent thing they have been part of in the last 6 months. Hopefully we have turned a big corner and things will carry on improving for the footballing public of Surrey Heath. So credit where credit is due. Bet there's a huge clamour for the winter evening training slots Kroons - there must be over 60 Youth teams in the Camberley & Frimley based Clubs let alone the Senior Teams and those from surrounding areas. Know anyone with influence at the Council?

Know anyone with influence at the Council? Just been talking to one of the park keepers and he was telling me the pitch is already fully booked by local teams,he reckons the contractors are on a mission and are gonna have it up and running asap, also the pavilion is gonna be refurbished and walls knocked down and extended. Big J R
I've not heard any news as yet regarding what type of pitch will be laid at Meadowbank. I'm told that the final decision will be down to M.V.D.C. I'm led to believe that a 3G is under consideration.
Terrence Collina
how does a 3G fair when flooded as the Meadowbank pitch is below the water table?
Krooner
how does a 3G fair when flooded as the Meadowbank pitch is below the water table? From evidence I have seen with 3g's they are bit on a little bit of a slope from the middle outwards and flood plains are put next to them. You'll be sending me a christmas card next! It's taken me over three years to get the council to agree to a 3G pitch in the borough and the last year to agree the funding of the scheme. This now makes us the tenth borough/district (out of 11) in Surrey to have such a facility which is why I'm pleased to eventually get this off the ground but it also shows perhaps where we are regarding our sports provision in the borough. I had a site meeting on Friday and we hope to get it finished by christmas. There will also be refurbishment of the changing rooms and a classroom created. The down side is we have received a couple of complaints so far. One from the local Lib Dem Cllr and another from a fair ground owner who hires the site. As they say you can't please all, all of the time but it does sound like Krooner is coming round though!!

Craig Fennell
Best not let it slip then Craig. I sincerely hope not to. But as I said at the football forum I am also looking to enhance other facilities within the borough. Not just football.
