Jonno running first 30 minutes bedfont too deep but closing him down last 10 so knaphill not as effective

Knaphill should be 3 or 4 - 1 up on chances hit the woodwork twice and played some good stuff in front of goal

Thanks for the nice comments Weeble.

Duncs, let's set the record straight.....

November 2011 Chertsey lose their manager, their whole budget, their whole team. Find themselves in a league that is suddenly way too big for their resources. Myself and Ian Selley were offered to take over as joint managers which we accepted. Two weeks later Ian Selley resigns for his own reasons. I manage to keep the club at step 4 for 2 seasons but sadly resources ran out and we succumbed to relegation last season.

During this time not only did I pick up valuable management experience for the future and how a football club is run, but I also continued playing at step 4. This is experience gained at step 4 that a lot of managers have never had nor will ever have. I am very thankful to Chertsey for that opportunity. Yes I could have said no but it was an opportunity many managers might never get. I was lucky and I'm very glad I did it.

Looking around the CCL there are quite a few "young" managers or coaches in place. Surely age is irrelevant if they can be successful. Does that mean Duncs that johnno keeping chertsey up meant more or less because of his age?. Management is a choice and as such sometimes brings more success then as a player. Whilst playing brings its own thrills, surely lifting a cup or title as the manager who outsmarted all the others means the same or more then actually playing in the games?

Non League

I am not sure if you played the game and honestly that's not meant tone rude but I have had success and failure as a player and a manager and in my experience absolutely nothing takes the place if playing

Funny topic this. Im 38 and horley manager, I quite often take a bit of stick about not playing, and in my opinion we all have differences but I believe I can still play at this level. I now have taken on a new challenge in managing which believe me is a lot more difficult than playing. I havent missed it as much as I thought I would but I do play for the vets!

Saying that I was on the bench last night at camberley.

Anthony your wasted on the bench, reason your an organiser and talker,Horley are a better team when you play.Likewise Knaphill and Wembley are better when Johnno and Batesy play, they are not shrinking violets. They may be getting on,but at this level you cannot buy experience and loyalty.
