Arlesey Town (a) - 4th Oct

Was very surprised that the referee didn't move the players away from the Slough fans when Dobbo and their player were being treated. He could have avoided a lot of that confrontation. To be fair to the Arlesey keeper he tried to step in calm things down but was ignored by his own players.

On the pitch I thought Arlesey worked hard and did to us what we did to Corby, reducing us to long ball which was futile against their defence. As usual not a pleasant place to go, the AFC Hayes of the premier division so glad we got that out of the way.

Of course having said all this, the players have travelled at least 800 miles in the last week picking up 6 points. Still a great start to the season and so unlucky with the injuries once again.

Going off google maps travelling from centre of slough the players would have travelled appox 832 miles for the last three games and will have another 92 miles round trip to play hungerford next to give a total of 924 miles in just 10 days on top of their day jobs.

having listened to rebels radio it sounded like the officials missed quite a lot. hopefully the injuries sustained wont be too bad and hopefully this run of injuries will stop in the very near future.

6 points from a possible 9 is very good considering truro and corby will be fighting for play off spots and the matches being played away. The BB cup will hopefully provide the managers a chance to rotate the players or perhaps just play those who are actually fit, could be a chance for a few youth players to show what they can offer.

Disgraceful is all I will say. You cant spell Arlesey without arse. Not sour grapes, just disappointed with their ways today....

I thought we'd struggle today after two fantastic results.

Mid table will do me this season, which after recent results and performances, I believe we will achieve.

Beaten by an average side because we missed too many chances......................................cant agree with some of the moaners afterwards--two good penalty shouts and a great free kick against the bar.

Poor ref didnt help but we didnt do a great deal wrong...................one of those days ! !

MOTM Reece York by a milee

I'd loved to have seen us win yesterday, but maybe that shows that we shouldn't get too far ahead of ourselves with regards to our expectations. We have the tendency to win a few games and were going to win the league, we lose a few games and were doomed. Disappointed with yesterdays result, but pleased were mid table. Like to think well win more than we will lose this season. Still enjoying the Premier League ride and hope it continues next season too.

How did Luke Knight play, given that he's been out for a while? Did we play him in centre of midfield?

Stuart

You have digs at the managers, but you don't go and watch the games - if you did then you would know it is not Georg Frift.

Personally, I don't see 3spirits opinions as 'digs' at the managers.

As far as I'm aware 3spirit goes to most home games.

Perhaps it's just that English is not his best subject   ;)

Crime of the century I've spelt a surname wrong !

Rebel 1965,Bakes and Unders are fine with honest opinion but obviously will be touchy on near the mark subjects.

I think most fans and management can decipher when someone is offering fair observations to when someone is plainly goading and seeking to be obnoxious to the rules of this forum and our beloved team.

As for away matches,I will attend when I want to!

At 51 years of age,I now do not want to spend hours in my car or on the coach on long ,drawn out journeys, for 90 minutes of football. Some of us,haven't a wife to do our washing, ironing, cleaning, etc ! ha ha ha! [no offence any feminists out there!] he he ho ho!

Though, I have done in the past, and good luck to the die hards who do,like Brighton Rebel,Rebel Sue and Reading Rebel.

Doesn't make me any lesser supporter of Slough Town Football Club,as financially I get to the majority of home games.

I think a lot of our players looked tired and off the pace yesterday, which is understandable considering the travelling and the efforts that they've put in over the past week.

As for the goal, it came about because we switched off at a throw in and from the resulting cross, poor marking at the far post resulted in a free header on goal.

I'd have taken 6 points before the week started so really pleased with the players effort and achievement after a really tough week.
