Dorking v Sandhurst   at The New Defence, Horley-

Just checked the web-site at 4:15pm.

Appears to be goal=less as I type.

Dorking  1  v  Sandhurst  0.  Kick-off delayed for 20 minutes due to motorway-mayhem.  (Nothing new there, then !!)

Minutes into the 2nd half.

Dorking  2  -  0  Sandhurst.

Sandhurst keeper penalised for handling outside the box.

FULL-TIME RESULT.

Good news, indeed !

Premier

Ashford Town 3 v 1 Chertsey Town

Cove 3 v 1 Guildford City

Westfield 2 v 2 Mole Valley

Think the prem is turning into a 2 horse race.

And the clocks haven't gone back yet. Come back after the Winter Solstice has passed as there is a huge amount of football to be played.

Interesting incident in the Sheerwater vs Ash game Saturday. Sheerwater keeper takes a goal kick and passes it out to his left back. The pass is too short and the defender controls the ball inside the box. What should the ref do?

1. Make the keeper retake the kick.

2. Award an indirect free kick to Ash.

Apparently 2 Chertsey players went to Ashford in Kent and thus missed the start of the game. Just shows the perils of recruiting players from far and wide, as anyone living local to Chertsey would know the Ashford that they play is just up the road.

Doesn't a manager check his players know where they are going if they are not using a coach ?

Apparently not!

Had a player ask me at the turnstile on Saturday if there were any other grounds in the area (Horley) because he wasn't playing for Dorking or Sandhurst.

He didn't know who he was playing against or where the ground was, but thought it was somewhere near Horley.

This was about 3.15 so how many pitches he'd been to I don't know. (must have been a 'keeper...)

That beggars belief Jeff.  No club organisation.

Look how many teams playing away to Dorking Wanderers used to turn up at the gate at Meadowbank with about half an hour to kick-off !
