stingray
CRAWLEY GREEN 4-3 BUSH HILL RANGERS It can now be said with complete confidence that whenever HyperAngus is in attendance, either as a spectator or linesman, you are always guaranteed top entertainment. And so it proved as he was appointed to run the line at Crawley Green for at least the second time this season. In front of probably only TWO paying spectators (me and a shady lad shortly after the start who may have actually been on the CG playing staff), the early advantage fell to Bush Hill before Crawley Green were awarded a penalty. A bit of a conflab followed with the ref having a long chat with HA before seemingly reducing BHR to ten. I'm unable to confirm rumours that this was for telling HA about sex and travel - as if he didn't have enough to cope with with the sun in his eyes all game. Despite the equaliser, BHR took control and scored twice more to seemingly sew up the game - until they inexplicably fell asleep and allowed CG to pull level with two goals in as many minutes as the 90 drew to a close. During added time, a foul on a Crawley Green player resulted in the usual bout of handbags and fisticuffs which involved not only all 21 on the pitch but also CG's manager and two subs. After a quiet word for Mark Smith, yellow cards for the subs for entering the field of play and two yellows for BHR, the now 10 minutes of added time was completed with another penalty for CG snatching a win from the jaws of defeat. As I left, shadylad also left in his black Audi TT - if he's on CG's playing staff, they must have cash to splash
Munchkin
Another win for us against a good Ealing team and still unbeaten in the league. Mention for Ealing who I heard were a really nice bunch who came to play football and had some very good players. Leas said about the reserves the better, well beaten by a strong Welwyn team. Karen hope the lad who went off injured was too serious. Edited September 27, 2014 by Munchkin

The sending off was because he was last man and prevented a clear goal scoring op. The lad sent off used some unacceptable language to the Lino. And has been reported. 'The brawl' (handbags) could've actually ended a lot worse than it did for BHR as atleast one of their players had ours by the throat at one point. That's not to say we were innocent. Very impressed with BHR going fed. v good front 3. Our fitness and passion shon through in the end

Rhodes
FA CHALLENGE CUP Second Qualifying Round 5-0 Staines Town v Leverstock Green A report from another Forum by Royals26: FA CUP 2nd Qualifying Round Wheatsheaf Park Staines Town 5-0 Leverstock Green {STEP02 CONF-South 20th of 21} vs {STEP05 SSM Premier 14th of 22} Admission: £12 + £5 for youngest + £2.5 prog - good and glossy plenty of stuff to read. Badge £4 from Club Shop just inside turnstile. Attendance: Official 241 - looked fairly sparse but was only slightly below average to date. Directions: Staines is complicated if you are not that familiar with it's approaches - road signage not particularly geared to assist motorists - found my way down from M25 jn13 East on A30 - doubled back at 1st right filter to the A308 signed Staines A308 - got lanes wrong at the first big one - secret may be to watch down on the road itself for 'Other Routes' and stay left to go round to the right? Anyway: avoided town centre itself by heading off left down Kingston Lane up and over the Railway Line , then filter right at mini-roundabout into Worple Rd to Laleham and back up north/right on the B376 to Wheatsheaf Lane on the left. Parked in side streets beyond the ground - arrived at turnstiles just before KO. Pleased my memory from the previous visit (over 19 years ago!) had enough shards remaining to prove useful. Also had a very vague notion I actually tried to watch a game here sometime between 2001-2003 but on arrival discovered they were playing at Egham that season. - think it was a very wet day too - we ended up co-incidentally at their other lodgings around that time for: Walton & Hersham v Wimbledon! Its possible their reserves were still using Wheatsheaf Park but I suspect they were away that day? Facilities: did not explore the upstairs bar - accessed back out through the turnstiles. Sat high up in the seated stand - (watch for leaky roof). Aforementioned Club Shop and well run tea bar - Bacon Cheeseburgers well received. (No chips though) Match: Swans scored from the kick-off (timed at 47 secs) and then at fairly regular intervals. LG rallied a bit when three down and even mounted a few decent attcks - hit the bar possibly twice in one spell and worked the home keeper. Staines just far too adept with and without the ball, for their plucky visitors. 4th and 5th goals almost identical as a tiring defence failed to cope with a strong run and shot from narrow angle from home skipper (Worsfold), joining in an attack down the left. Decided to 'drift' home where the signs took us rather than bother about trying to find the M25 - fully aware the finest traffic planners around, had designed the roundabouts to foil such brave ideals! Did find the A30 - doggedly stuck to it westbound until it headed uphill to familiar surrounds of the A329 then home via Ascot/Bracknell - lad gleefully counting Mercs, Bentleys, Rollers, Ferraris and yet more exotic vehicles (none of your scummy BMWs/Audis etc ... well not until Bracknell) in this particularly affluent part of the world. Of course such folk rarely feel the need to use road-signs!
Rhodes
PREMIER DIVISION3-5 Sun Sports v Oxhey Jets A report from another Forum by a Kidology: South Midlands Premier League Sun Sports 3 Oxhey Jets 5 Admission £6; Programme Free; Attendance 35 (h/c) A stunning second half which I don't think anyone watching wanted to end, it featured 7 goals in 36 minutes as neither side seemed capable of holding onto the lead. I think the game was ultimately won by Jets substitutes who were all over the tiring Sun Sports defence immediately they came on. There was no sign of what was to come as the home side took a 25th minute lead from a looping header and the second half started at 4.10pm, the consequence of a minute's silence, a 3.04 kick off, four minutes of first half stoppage time and an unfeasibly long interval. When we did restart, it rained goals. Jets scored twice to lead 2-1; Sun Sports responded with two of their own to snatch the lead back. It seemed at that point as though they must go on and win it but Jets simply responded with three goals in 10 minutes to become the first side in the game to lead by two clear goals. A fantastically entertaining game at a ground that is part of a larger, and extremely well kept, sports complex, with an active membership and thriving social scene, at the northern end of Watford. About as far removed from the tip at Clapton as you could imagine.
