michael
One very much likes that tonight. think a draw would have been fair-can't really comment on the crossbar incident and the disallowed 'goal' for stones-too far away-but trust ref got it right. thought we shaded first half, maidstone the second-but close all round. was worried when Cogan went off-lost control completely for 15 worrying minutes-but credit to them all that they regained control for last 20 minutes. wills deserved m-of m i thought-and that will and phipp were outstanding protecting the defence-especialy when Phipp went a bit deeper in second half and margate played with both of them just in front of back 4. can see why both teams haven't conceded many-central defence on both sides were good tonight ,thoughwassmer playing the ball like beckenbaur out of defence gave me kittens in first half-bring back the hoof- ,and in second half-thought he was outstanding, with beales just clam and assured similarly-i thought sonny miles was very good for maidstone-as was flisher -let alone his exorcet of a throw-which margate defended well good running up front by attwoood and moss-well taken goal-not easy not to panic. thought margate players worked really hard ;and for workrate alone-perhaps after all narrowly deserved the victory. only disappointment was that the posh portaloos have disappeared from coffin end ,so no nice handcream anymore, but the win just about makes the sacrifice worthwhile. michael
cold light of day-and as pleased as ever-albeit-again to be fair-a draw may have been fair-but there will be times when things have and will go against Margate (dulwich ?). Worthy of mention, that whilst phipp and will were superb in defensive midfield-the most creative midfielder-allen -was on emergency duty at right back ,and thus unable to give added influence in midfield-maybe makes the result even more acceptable
Jab_n17
think that makes the performance/result even more pleasing not only the vast number of players out with injuries but players not playing in their normal positions and doing a sound job, very impressed with both teams and a great advert for Non League Football. BT Sport should have put this on TV instead of that Dover game at the Crabble that was on the other week....
Gringo
Great performance considering, against a strong team. Look forward to getting everyone fit again, although our passing play is still ok. With everyone back we should see it back to the level it was. Ref was poor for both sides, two footed sliding tackles going in early on!
