What a coincidence up until 21/09/13 the team were struggling to get points on the board until they played Barton Rovers came out like a train and won 4-0 which set the them on there way for the season.

It's a year on 20/09/14 and the second half was identical to that game the confidence comes back after the first goal we win 4-1 now the season starts.

What a difference having our big players coming back into the team.

Correct RD, and we've still got Knighty, Smithy, Foulser and Rummy to come back.

The mind boggles with the quality we still have to make an impact this season. Add in the fact that Jake Parsons and Searsy are still to regain full fitness bodes well for the rest of the season ahead!!

Ps much as I love and need the points has that first goal REALLY been given to Dobson????

I announced it as Dobson! From the tunnel end I saw the initial shot and both saw/heard it hit the bar. The delayed cheer from the supporters I thought was because it had come down off the bar and then bounced up into the net. I hadn't seen the fact it hit a Bideford player.

Not sure who makes the decision but if it hit the defender it should be given as an o.g. Sorry Dobbo!

Good to be back to winning ways.

I thought we had a decent enough start yesterday but Bideford slowly got themselves into the game, then scored and to be fair, we have to thank Somers for keeping them out after that. It might have been 2-3 even 4.

I don't know what was said at halftime but we looked a completely different team 2nd half, much more aggressive and direct. The own goal was probably the bit of luck we needed, the other three were all really well taken with Johnny Dyer being at the heart of everything and my MOM I think. A great response from the disappointment of last week and hopefully the start of a run that will see us climb the league. COYR!

At half time the fans mood was as gloomy as the weather. We really were lucky to only be 1-0 and Somerville definitely saved the match for us keeping it to 1

Crazy how the bit of luck helped inspire us. 2nd goal looked suspiciously offside though I didn't have the best view but its given and suddenly we are flying. Passing was linking up effortlessly even though 20 or 30 mins earlier we were labouring to make a few successive passes even

Superb work from dyer for goals 3 & 4 and the superb turnaround was complete. Don't think bideford had a shot 2nd half till we had the points wrapped up. Sears definitely was a factor in that but all the players stepped up.

Was interesting that other than the 1st goal Dobson who has been our most influential attacking player wasn't too involved in the goals. Good that other players played a major role

12th place in league 6 points off playoffs & 6 off relegation. Think we should be pretty satisfied about where we are. With players to come back we can be optimistic of finishing at very least midtable. Personally i would be delighted to finish comfortably enough above relegation to avoid a dogfight at the back end of the season

I think we all knew this team had goals in it, and finally yesterday we got to see that.  During the first half it looked like the same story, having a lot of possession around their area but no real clinical edge, and then getting sucker punched by their goal.  We then let them into the game and Jake in goal pulled off some stunning saves to keep us in the game.

The second half was what we have been waiting for all season, plenty of good possession and creating chances to work the keeper and stretch the defence, and taking plenty of those chances with some great goals.

Hopefully this will get the confidence flowing now that we have our players back and getting fit.  Special mentioned to Dyer who worked so well as always, Scott Harris looked very strong up front too, and Adrian Sear's introduction made all the difference at half time.

Onto Truro, same again please! COYR!

The 2nd goal came straight from the throw in, with no-one else touching it so couldn't be offside by the laws of the game.

i am sure it was flicked on. i was convinced our player backheeled it on to an offside player. their keeper was totally convinced though he proved himself to not be the most of honest of players lol

The second half incident was at the far end so I couldn't see that but the incident in the first half was avoidable. Dobbo could easily have hurdled the keeper and if you choose not to then the keeper is potentially going to be hurt. Nobody can tell how badly he was injured or not. Put it this way, had that been one of their players on Jake everyone would have been calling the ref a cheat for "only" giving a yellow.

If the view is he made a meal of the challenge from Scott in the second half then so be it. Why drop your shoulder into a player? What purpose does that serve?

My answer to any player who says "he made a meal of it" is why be so stupid as to give him the opportunity? If you don't touch him, he can't do it.
