Truro Away 27th September

A fantastic result, great comeback from the lads.  Truro will feel aggrieved to have lost all the points, they certainly had plenty of chances, but it was nice to be on the right end of a smash and grab type result for once this season.  We slacked off at the back and left their man unmarked to score.  The free kick from Dobbo was clever, low into the middle of the goal, possibly the 7 man wall unsighted the keeper.  We had a few decent chances and finally got some luck with the ball deflecting off Dyer and looping over the keeper.

The lads worked tirelessly throughout the game and they all deserve the credit for the result, Truro were a tough and physical team.

Lots of difficult games to come so it's good to have a bit of confidence flowing through the team.  COYR!

quite an even game where both teams wasted good chances and had spells of pressure. Truro probably edged it with chances but not by much and some of their finishing was woeful

maybe a draw would have been a fair result but we got that bit of luck with Dyers winning goal which he didn't know an awful lot about i don't think. the cross unexpectedly made it to him and the ball spun off him and over the keeper

Dobbo squeezed a freekick under a huge wall which gave the keeper no chance of ever seeing the shot as shown in that it didn't seem to even hit anywhere near the corner of the net

Truro did hit the bar twice 2nd half the first time the rebound was turned back towards goal by an attacker but hacked clear off the line by I think Yorke.

Scott Harris also hit the post from yards away after a borderline offside appeal went in our favour and it was harder to miss than score

all in all its a massive 3 points for us in a game that could of gone either way we battled hard and with a bit of ridding our luck got the win

the fact that things haven't gone all to plan and we have had a lot of injuries hampering the team we cannot really ask for more

well on our way to consolidating ourselves as a Southern Premier team although lots of work to do still yet. i know most fans will be happy to just still be in this league again next season

no doubt we are still learning what this level is all about but I know the team is capable of learning and have the hunger to be as good as we can be

keep up the good work

Just a quick thank you to all who travelled yesterday....your support was very much appreciated by all of us!

Truro is a really tough place to go and get a win and we rode our luck at times but we've been unlucky to drop points late on a few times already this season and these things even themselves out. We were so proud of our players who gave us everything once again.

Another difficult game on Wednesday at Corby. Would be great if we can have another strong Rebel following.

It was a very good team performance in terms that everyone worked their socks off, however for me Scott Harris was superb, granted did not score the goal he deserved, but he worked so hard, and caused their giant centre halves problems all day, ably assisted by Johnnie Dyer.

Must agree Scott MOM he caused the centre half so much trouble he had to start fouling Scott, even though the Ref missed a lot of them.

Couple of mentions for Slough on the BBC Sport website today, one on the main Breaking News page (10:12)...

An apple a day doesn't keep the doctor away

Former Fulham and Millwall striker Barry Hayles had to miss Truro City's game against Slough Town at the weekend after injuring his hand with a knife.

The 42-year-old needed stitches after cutting his hand open while preparing an apple for eating.

"These things happen and his experience would have helped in the last 20 or 30 minutes of the game," said boss Steve Tully, following his side's 2-1 defeat in the Southern Premier League.

... and one (Cornwall-biased) match report...

Sour grapes, anyone?

Sour Grapes without a doubt but on the positive side that's our team talk done the next time we play them.

Firstly thanks to Dan, Keith, Paul and Phil for joining the singing behind the goal .

While not MOM if like to mention Tom Moran who gets better every game .He was dropped in favour of Sean Fraser on Saturday but he didn't sulk, or not want to travel and when he came on was as solid as ever especially when he dropped into midfield when George came off injured. While I know Fraser offers more at right back going forward ,Tom is adding this to his game as I think it was his cross for Dyer's winner.

got to agree with rebelade. thought tom moran made all the difference when he came on. everyone was working their socks off but moran really changed the dynamic down the right hand side.he looks a really good player .as said before harris and dyer were brilliant upfront and didn't give their big no 6 any peace all afternoon.i think as well both centre backs should get a mention especially hollis who didn't let their young no 9 a free header all day
