EMANUEL ASARE APPOINTED AS 1ST TEAM MANAGER AT SOUTHALL FC

Wycombe Wanderers Senior Elite Coach & former Southall Player, Emanuel Asare has been appointed as the new 1st Team Manager at Southall FC.

In a statement earlier today Mr Emanuel Asare, 40, stated:

I am very pleased to have been given the chance to take an ambitious Club like Southall FC forward into a new era. In my opinion the club has been a non league sleeping giant and having played for Southall FC, I acknowledge just what the club has meant to community in the past. Whist it's a shame that the club has not met recent targets. Having been involved in the game at a professional level for the past 5 years. Walking in and having discussions with the Board, it became instantly clear to me that there are immediate improvements necessary to realise the clubs ambitions and after quite detailed discussions there is no doubt in my mind that I am the right man to restore some of its former Glory both on and off the pitch.

I was taught and adopted the notion that a great manager, has a great backroom staff, and to this end: I will be retaining the services of long serving Club Captain Chris Barrett, Chris is a warm and likeable character whose has earned my respect as a player and a person. Chris has been at the club for the last 13 years and has a wealth of experience that will not only be valuable to me, but also to some of the young starlets that we will be aiming to bring through the ranks.

That said, I will be bringing in British Non League striking Legend Rocky Baptise on my coaching staff, Rocky has scored over 200 goals in just over 400 appearances starring for teams such as Hayes, Luton, Harrow Boro, Margate, Maidenhead, Farnboro, & Havant & Waterlooville. The FA Cup is a special tournament for Rocky having famously scored against both Arsene Wenger's Arsenal & Roberto Martinez's Swansea in the competition. Myself and Rocky were brought up in similar parts of London and played football at the same Junior Club (Chalkhill Dynamo's) many moons ago, our philosophy and ideas of the game are very similar and whilst Rocky achieved a great playing career we now have an incredible opportunity. Looking back, that Chalkhill team of ours didn't do too badly in producing talent as they also nurtured my teammate, former premiership player and recent Head Coach at Leeds FC , Junior Lewis.

My coaching staff will be completed by the appointment of Samuel Arhin - A former player himself with West Brom as a trainee, Wealdstone, Hayes & Yeading, Beaconsfield, Southall & North Greenford. I have known Samuel personally for many years now and I have watched and overseen him develop into a fine coach. Samuel matches my desire and enthusiasm for success and again fully understands the methods and philosophy I use to build successful units. Samuel is a bubbly character and his unnerving ability to build cohesion and unity within a group will be very valuable in the early stages of this new project.

Richard Gordon will be appointed as the Clubs Chief Scout with immediate effect, Richard is a very close ally of mine and has an unquenchable thirst for the game He knows exactly what I want in terms of a player's game understanding & skill set for any particular role and has a network at his disposal that will constantly ensure we find the right talent to take this club forward. Last but by no means least Glen Harris will be appointed as my match day secretary. Glen impressed the Chairman with his efficiency as well as his charisma within his previous spell at the club. He is man that "just gets things done" and was one of the first phone calls I made after my appointment.

As mentioned earlier this club is ambitious and the Chairman matches my drive, expectations and love for Southall FC. Thus as well as stabilising the senior squad, we will be immediately implementing plans on an exciting scheme that will bring the community closer to the football Club.

Guarantees?

Having tragically lost both my Mother and Only Sister within the last three years. I've harshly learnt that life itself has no guarantee. What I will state is that Physically, Psychologically, Tactically and Technically the squad will improve and we will provide a structured, creative, entertaining & expansive playing style. We need to create a winning mentality around the place and the buck stops with me to show leadership and direction for the squad.

Chris takes charge of today's game vs. Bush Hill Rangers and although my staff & I will be at the game on Tuesday, Chris will again take charge of the squad in the cup game Vs Ashford. Thursday Evening we'll take the first training session of our new regime, where we start the implementation of a new progressive Southall FC in earnest. My coaching methods have been extremely successful in developing players that have gone into the professional game as well as producing football teams that retain possession well and are devastating in advanced positions and I have always prided myself in being able to lead, inspire and manage people. This is a Journey that will certainly put Southall FC back on the map as a well run footballing force so buckle up and enjoy the ride.

Was that a club statement or the voice over for the trailer of the new Scharzenegger film? What a load of crap.

Buckle up?? More like pipe down.

Unimpressed. Sorry.
