Enfield Town v Felixstowe & Walton Utd FC

For football fans everywhere the FA Cup is a very special competition and has a magic all of its own. For non-league clubs, such as our own, it is an opportunity for fame, glory, and to secure some much needed extra revenue.

This Saturday we extend a very special north London welcome to everyone connected with our opponents Felixstowe & Walton United - aka 'The Seasiders' - who have made the long journey down from Suffolk. We hope you enjoy your visit to the Queen Elizabeth II Stadium (but not too much!!) and have a safe journey home after the match.

A bit about our visitors. 'The Seasiders' play in the Thurlow Nunn (Eastern Counties) Football League, Premier Division, which is level FIVE of the National Football Pyramid. Their first team squad has a good balance of youth and experience, and on their day are more than capable of mixing it with the best, as Ware found out to their cost in the previous round, when Felixstowe & Walton surprised them with a commendable 3-0 away victory.

A number of their players have good experience playing at a higher level. Jim Stannard (goalkeeper) joined 'The Seasiders' from RPL rivals Leiston, Sheridan Driver ( midfield/defender) was captain of Needham Market last season, whilst Stuart Ainsley (defender/midfield) was signed from Lowestoft Town.

Whilst Town will start as favourites, playing at a higher level and enjoying home advantage, we will need to be on our guard and put in a high octane performance from start to finish, to avoid banana skins and reach the next round.

Very best of luck to Brad and the lads. Let's hear you loud and clear Enfield Ultras!

Saturday has arrived, its FA Cup day, the weather is fine, and we will be leaving in the next hour for our 100 mile drive up to Enfield to support The Town. Really looking forward to a live match and seeing some old friends again. Sure it will be a great match with a fantastic atmosphere, and I expect Town to win a very competitive contest.

Good luck everyone!

Congratulations and well done to Brad and the boys on our FA Cup win yesterday. It was the first time I have seen Town this season and I was very impressed with our energetic performance, possession, passing, and our determination to win this match and progress to the next round. This was a match we were expected to win, being two levels above Felixstowe & Walton in the National Football Pyramid, and we did it in style.

Due credit to 'The Seasiders' who are a decent side. They ran their socks off over the ninety minutes, never gave up when the chips were down, and generally did their club proud throughout against superior opponents.

Be interested to read other peoples comments on this match. I really enjoyed my visit to the QEII Stadium. It was good to see Town bang in five goals, good to see Liam Hope get a hat-trick, and really good to see some old friends again.

Let's hope the draw is kind to us tomorrow!

The biggest disappointment on Saturday was the small crowd and an attendance figure of only 286.
This was our lowest home attendance of the season to date.
A lot of hard-work has gone in to attracting interest and support for the club from the local area.
Does anyone have any thoughts on the reason for this poor gate?
