Here's one for SSML officials to clear up for us . . . with so much pedantic attention paid to the potential clashing colours of 'keepers' shirts and socks, shorts etc . . . why if a 'keeper is sent off and no replacement available from the bench, is it ok for an outfield player to just swap shirts with the 'keeper and carry on?

If it's not ok for opposing 'keepers, outfield and opposing players to wear the same colour socks, etc pre-kick-off when the teamsheets are submitted, why do they allow the swapping of shirts whilst keeping outfield shorts and socks mid-game?

How about this one. Our Under 16's play in the EJA. Their socks are blue but the feet part of the socks are white. Because the white part was slightly showing by their boots, the ref asked them to change all the socks or he would postpone the game.

Thats just plain wrong. Don't know where you could prove it but thats just wrong, and I don't mean wrong as in the wrodls gone mad, the referee is actually wrong in this case

I would have told him to postpone the game.

And then reported him / her to the County FA.

Was the referee correct or not in the u16 EJA case then? I'm confused

Absolutely not on the assumption that all of the outfield players were wearing exactly the same socks.

I think PTG was trying to advise you that there was no reason to change the socks, and therefore if the referee wanted to postpone the game you should have allowed him to do so, before reporting him / her!!
