Pre-Match tribute to Dave Programmes

Before tomorrow's game against Ardley United there will be a minute's tribute to Dave Pearcy. It won't be a minute's silence as silence wasn't Dave's thing! It will be a minute of applause, chanting and generally making as much noise as we can.

To assist this we are asking all spectators to remain at the covered end of the ground until after the tribute to David. Many thanks for everyone's co-operation.

I am so sorry that Sue and I are unable to go to the Hershal Arms tomorrow night, we loved Dave, we love Tom and we also love the occasional drink, we will miss the chance to be with many friends of Dave and reminice about the many many good times we have had together watching STFC, we hope you all have a good night and we will be with you in spirit (or red wine).

Well done to everyone singing today, it was a very appropriate send off for our David Programmes for the Angels.

I'll get the video I took of it online tomorrow once I get back home to a fibre optic connection, it's taking way too long to load on normal broadband speeds.

Horsham thanks for capturing this, and well done to the crowd. Good tribute.

The video is great but if anyone cannot quite make out the spoken tribute, the words are here:

"Before kick-off the players will line up and there will be a one minute tribute to our dear friend, Dave Pearcy.

David followed the Rebels for many years and in the words of his parents, Slough Town wasn’t just a part of his life, Slough Town was his life. David lived for his football and especially for Slough Town.

Everyone knew and loved David and since last Saturday there has been a constant stream of messages from Rebels fans, supporters of other teams who knew David, tributes from other clubs, messages from current players and also lots of former players, all expressing their sadness but particularly their love for David and their admiration for his wonderful attitude to life.

David was never one for silence, so on behalf of Slough Town Football Club, on the referee’s whistle I’d like to invite all supporters and players to applaud, chant and generally make as much noise as possible in memory of Dave Pearcy."
