Slough v Ardley

Think Ed Smith was feeling his injury when he was withdrawn but seemed to have the hump when he came off and booted the ball hard towards the bench and fence and was shaking his head and in a right old strop with everyone.

Don't know if he was frustrated with his injury or his disgust with being taken off but whatever it was,it wasn't the right reaction for the game, when we needed characters to stand up and be counted and for players to offer support to each other, not sulk like a little kid.

I wouldn't be overly concerned as IMO it was only through pure frustration and at least shows that he has the passion and commitment that's needed from all players.

I'm a big fan of the footballing abilities of Ed Smith but at times,he is petulant and has a poor attitude which is detrimental to the unity/spirit of the squad.

To me,no player should think they are irreplaceable. You're obviously softer on his shenanigans than I am,Reading Rebel !

Ed Smith needs game time to regain his match fitness and goal scoring touch.

It seems that he is getting more and more frustrated with the constant niggling injuries he keeps getting which is stopping him from getting back to what we know he is good at which is scoring goals.

It's mainly done in the heat of the moment and to me shows that spark of passion that I like to see in players.

Is he the nutter that got banned from the ground yesterday? I had to wait at the bus stop with him. Longest 9 minutes of my life!

Why was he banned?

A fit Ed Smith is a good player to have playing in the first eleven,we all know that. However, his attitude and ill discipline is disrupting and shouldn't be tolerated regardless of how good he is as a player.

I'm sure our Managers wouldn't tolerate it if any player was disruptive no matter how good they are.

So on that basis I'd suggest we put it down to frustration and heat of the moment stuff from Ed and move on.
