Slough v Ardley

Utterly shambolic today.

I'm afraid that this performance reeked of wanting to be out of the FA Cup ASAP (Bakes/Unders, I'm sorry if this is the wrong impression, but it is an honest one based upon the players body language today): so many individual schoolboy errors that I'm sure wouldn't have happened had we been playing a league game. These players don't suddenly become so poor simply because we're playing Ardley in the FA Cup.

Congratulations to Ardley. They wanted it, and they enjoyed it. Good luck to them in the next round.

Incredibly poor today. I know the fa cup isn't important to us and staying in the prem is.... but that was embarrassing. Do not blame Dobson at all for his outburst, his shoulders must have been tired as he was "carrying" the team most of the game.

Also never a pen so in essence it could and should have been 2-0. Their keeper made some decent saves but how easy was their second goal??

Also why were so many of out players out to give intentional fouls near the end??? We were losing and the clock was against us.

Really really missed mcclurg short and Witham today. I have faith in the managers (they been spot on before) to turn it around but this was just bilge.

Mom Dobson also a decent performance for Moran.

We weren't rubbish we just didn't take our chances!! Which we have no one else to blame for but didn't help that ardley are a dirty team and the ref in my opinion was crap

I do like to criticise a ref but I thought apart from the pen (and maybe not booking the guy that did dobbo near the end) he was pretty spot on throughout.

Can't disagree with you Nathan, there was no real leadership out there, and too many not at the races, myself and Jon are bitterly disappointed, and will take the flack on the chin, as it is warranted.

I can 100% tell you we wanted a run in the FA cup and have lost vital income...

Myself and Jon are banging our heads against a brick wall, and at present have not been able to get our favoured side once this season, it just seems problems upon problems, a phone call from JD this morning who has been up all night throwing up does not help matters.

All I can say is we will work very hard this week, and try to get players back, and get working as a team, as we were a shadow of the type of side we like to put out today.

The players did want it and they knew an FA cup run was important. In the way we've done to other teams though it just didn't click for us today. I feel sorry for Bakes and Unders who have been hit with so many injuries.

It's done now so time to get points on the board in the league.

Yep, not good enough today - simple as. We move on.

Out of interest where was Alex Witham today as well?

Alex is no longer with the club, however we will give an update later in the week, I am afraid also John Porter is away this week, so we are unable to give our after match thoughts, and it is not because we have been beaten, as more than happy to face up after a defeat.

Just about the poorest, insipid performance I've seen from a Slough team for quite some time.

Sitting here feeling really gutted that we've gone out of the FA cup with such a whimper.

Congrats to Ardley who really didn't have to be that good to get a well deserved win.

Not even going to try to nominate a MOTM because IMO there wasn't one.

Heard some of the fans saying bring back the old team.

I wondered which one as there were only two starters from the old team Smith and Fraser i believe and three starters from the old Godalming Team, Sommerville, Hollis and Harris i believe.

Shows how the team has changed this season .

OMG to say a player doesn't want to play is absolutely bloody ridiculous some of you need to get a grip !!!

Don't agree Marcus thought the ref was terrible and missed a lot today including a direct elbow in the face on Reece, not saying that is why we lost.

Its a pity we can't all be perfect like a lot of you lot !

Sorry to disagree with you but the F.A. CUP should be important to us on many levels, publicity, extra income, for starters.A good cup run might have helped kickstart a run in the league games, folk on here keep saying lets move on,I agree lets stop harping on about last years success and concentrate on this season.I realise we have had a few injuries and a few missing persons here and there, but surely we have a squad and everyone of them should be to good for the likes of Ardsley otherwise they are playing at the wrong level. It cannot be very inspiring to hear the managers saying " we have not put our best team out yet ",to those left to fill the places.

Can't comment as wasn't there but obviously disappointing to hear the result. This year I was hoping for a little cup run and consolidation in the league and the revenue obviously helps. We have been very unfortunate though. Horrible injuries to Warren and Foulser and then niggles for so many others.

Thought Witham looked lively against Burnham but since then felt he flattered to deceive.

Must say hugely impressed with the way Dobbo has stepped up to the plate this season. Hopefully will start to get the full squad fit over the next few weeks and results and performances will start to come.

Have full faith in the gaffers and the lads always going to have tough times on the pitch. On to the next one COYR
