Poole

I notice Poole have Josh Hanlon from the pro ranks and Steve Devlin playing for them ,no wonder they are top of the league.

I think O'Hanlon was injured for Saturday's game but Devlin played. That's not to say Hanlon won't be playing tomorrow night.

Just looked at the video of their game with Biggleswade and must say Poole looked very impressive. They seem to have quite a few skillful midfield/forward players who like to run with the ball and some big defenders.

I think we're in for a very tough night.

O.Hanlon already has 6 league goals to his name.

If the players show the same determination as they did throughout most of the game on Saturday then hopefully they might be able to come away with something. It will be a tough task as Poole have already started to stretch their lead at the top on 22 points.

Looking forward to the match at Poole as at Weymouth its great going to these grounds and getting the atmosphere it will be a real hard game.

But to Bakes Unders and Players the start to our campaign in this league has been tough but we all realised it would be.

With injuries to major players and late goals have not helped.

keep your heads up Lads

The supporters are and enjoying the ride to.

Similarities don'e exactly end there! They used to play in yellow and blue and on a very well-developed greyhound stadium in the centre of town until evicted in 1994. And one of my all-time favourite Slough players, Ralph Miller, appears to have turned out for them (as well as Wymouth) after the conclusion of his Football League career.

Slough is my hometown although I now live in Poole. My family still live in Slough and some of you may know my brother Rob.

The game tonight was a hard fought affair and even when 2-0 down your lads kept their heads up and kept trying. 2-1 was a fair score but we were all impressed. You have already realised that this is a tough league and you have had some tough matches at the start. There are many more than 4 worse teams than you in this division and as long as you play like that you will survive and prosper. Apart from Weymouth you brought the best and most vocal following to Poole. Good luck for the season and hopefully see you at Becky soon.

Last night was a good laugh and we made a lot of noise considering how many of us there were.

Credit to the players for digging in to try and get a result but it's a little disappointing that we didn't work the keeper a bit more. Dobson scored a great goal when it did come.

Still, the signs are promising and the results will come with a bit of luck. I'm sure our managers know better than me but I'm still a bit unconvinced by playing one up front and thought we looked better with two up top on Saturday and in the last 20 last night.

We travelled well last night and the home officials were impressed with the noise we made. It was good to get some songs in for Dave too.

Like I say I'm sure the results will come, there's plenty of determination in our team and both of our Dorset opposition have said we're one of the best they've played against.

Wasn't at the game last night but listened in on the radio. Sounds like we gave them a scare at the end. Weymouth and Poole would have been tough matches with a full squad to pick from, so looking at the positives, it's good that we weren't too far off in both games in terms of the score.

Important now that we advance in the FA Cup and get something at home to Bideford.

I thought we were excellent tonight and more than matched a very good Poole team.

The first goal was always going to be crucial and unfortunately we gave the ball away in a dangerous area which lead to the free kick that Poole scored from.

Poole's second goal was unstoppable, but credit to the players who never gave up and we were rewarded with an excellent goal from Dobbo.

Poole have a number of players with league experience and should go on to win this division but I think last night proved that we have a squad of players that can more than hold their own against the top teams in the premier division.

My MOTM was between George Short and Dobbo.

Well that's two games on the trot that we have lost, but I have left both games with the feeling that we won, probably down to the fact that the team never gave up in either matches and worked really hard.

Fantastic support last night and I could David in my ear after we lost saying "We'll be alright though wont we Sue".   Yes David with our team at the moment we will be alright.

A real battling performance once again from the Rebels against a strong big Quick fast and experienced Poole side on a very big pitch with a depleted side once again missing Eddie luke and a few more beside.

Attendence 381 and the small army of Rebel Supporters giving as good as they got in the singing stakes letting David know we are thinking of him.

We kept them at bay in the first halve where they had a few long range shots and a couple in the six yard box.

The second halve we gave the ball away leading to there  free kick which Jake had no chance as with the second which was a worldie, standing beside Reading Rebel who was looking the other shouting i missed that.

With that it would of been easy for the team to drop and let them in to score more, but like the Weymouth game and a couple of changes the team kept going got there rewards with a well taken Dobbo strike keeping the pressure on in the last few minutes there goalie spills a chance where if the ball came out more we could of ended with an equaliser this would of been just desserts as we have been on the recieving end on a couple of times already this season.

Jonnie Dyer another cracking game hassling and probing there defence like wise Dobbo.

Keep going lads we are still on track.

Hope Warren,s knee results today are not as bad as expected how he would of been in his element last night on that pitch.
