David Pearcy

He touched the lives of many people in his short life, and will be missed by them all.  If we are feeling a tad numb, how must his family be feeling? Even when you know the "end is near" it does not make it any easier. My thoughts and prayers are mainly with his family, but also for his extended Rebel one too.  Even though I moved away 17 years ago and only get up 2 or 3 times a season, he always made a point of saying hello and asking after my family. For that reason my diary will be cleared for an imminent trip to Slough....

My love goes out to his family! He was such a big part of our club.... Will miss his voice and am so happy he got to see slough get promoted it meant so much to him and he was so happy to be celebrating with the lads! Still love watching the rugby game and seeing him rush up the line when we scored the 2nd! Will always miss him as I know so many will! Rest in peace Dave

I just don't have the words that will say how much David will be missed by everyone he met, he was a great person who was loved by all.

He was also one of the bravest people I have had the honour to know.

My thoughts, and those of my mum (Frances) are with his family at this very sad time

Really sad to hear this news. Dave was such a big part of the club, with a smile and a cuddle for all that knew him. Real inspiration too, for the brave way he tackled his illness. Remember him telling me the news and saying he was going to fight it and he put up a real fight. Those scenes at the end of the season will live long in the memory. Going to miss him a lot.

My sincere condolences to has family and friends.

RIP Dave

Echo everyone's comments, David was one of a kind, a lovely gentle friendly guy who would talk to everyone and was always there for his beloved Rebels. He'll be sorely missed and I'm upset myself and mum didn't get to visit him at home in time. But he's now at peace and up there with many other great Rebels cheering them on from afar.

Deepest condolences to David’s  family, he will be sadly missed, especially by the White Horse Rebels. He was and will always be part of STRADS, we will always remember the times at the pub after the home games.  I broke the news to by daughters, who I used to drag to Stag Meadow, they both remember David, especially by oldest, who like David had Asperger’s, that’s why they got on so well. Asperger’s Rules OK.

We have now lost both the legends of Slough Town supporters

RIP David sadly missed

Such sad news, and sincere condolences to Dave's family and friends. I can't say that I knew Dave well, but whenever I turned up at a Slough game he would be there with his bag, some programmes and a cheery hello.

So whilst I and all other Rebels will mourn Dave's passing, tonight I raise a glass to Dave Pearcy: thoroughly decent bloke and a true Slough Town legend.

Cheers Dave, thanks for everything you did for the club, Rest In Peace

While we knew it would come one day, it doesn't make it any easier to hear.  Dave was a true legend of the club, his commitment was amazing, and he was always there wanting to speak to everyone.  Such a popular man in all areas of his life and so well known, he was certainly one of the faces of the club and watching Slough won't be the same without him.  RIP Dave, you will be missed by so many people.

Such sad news. First saw Dave at Wexham Park & he's been in-and-around the club ever since.

High-fived him in the stand when either Clurgy scored the winner or JD equalised and he must have really enjoyed that game & promotion.

A true Rebel.

Watching this brings back great memories of Dave at the Rugby game and how much he enjoyed it with the players:

Dave was one of the first "names" who I got to know when I started following the rebels, ever present, and always welcoming, with his encyclopaedic knowledge of bus and train routes and times.

I also remember coming across his posts on this forum where Dave used his unique version of spelling to put his views across and was an expert at the use of emoticons.

One of the first of his posts was the wish for an electronic score board at the ground similar to the one at the ice rink - he was always optimistic for the new ground and like the rest of us would get frustrated with the slow progress, but in inimitable Dave style he would always put a positive view on it.

It is with mixed emotions that I write this as it is with great sadness for his passing, but also with joy to remember Dave as the most loyal and devoted fan of the club and a friend on the terraces always chatting away and concerned for others rather than himself.

Now Dave is up there in the big football ground in the sky with Chris keeping an eye on him.

My condolences go to Mike and Pat and the rest of his family

Dave RIP

So so sorry to hear about David and our thoughts are with David's family. Will miss him very much although we didn't get to see him very often we kept in touch and will miss his texts. At least he is at peace now and no longer suffering but will still be watching his beloved Slough from above RIP David.
