Rebel Kay
Below is a message from Dave's Mum and Dad. Thanks to all those who came to David’s birthday party and for all the cards and gifts. David was not really able to enjoy it fully for a number of reasons but he knows we were all there for him. David is now very poorly. The disease is taking a toll and he is not able to leave the flat. But he is now comfortably installed in his high tech hospital style bed which really helps when he needs to get out of bed. We are expecting that he will be in his flat for his final days. His own space has always been a comfort to him and we want to make sure he is as settled as possible in his surroundings. With the help of family and friends we can keep him company 24/7. Nurses see him every day. He sleeps most of the time although he will always make an effort for visitors which he enjoys. If you want to visit you will be welcome just give us a quick call first. Best to come after 1pm when the nurses have gone. David’s flat is 111, Wyndham Crescent, Burnham SL1 8HJ. Check with Mike or Pat on 01628 559048. He will be disappointed to miss the trip to Weymouth and the one to Poole. Good excuse for a long train journey. His good friend Sally Hardick comes from Weymouth so Saturday’s fixture has become a bit of a grudge match. The Rebels had better do well or there will be trouble! Finally, we would be grateful if you could pass this news on to anybody in your network who knows David. He has such a busy life and so many friends that we could never keep up with them all. HorshamRebel
Below is another update from David's parents David is now comfortably installed in his high tech hospital style bed courtesy of the NHS which really helps when he needs to get out of bed. It hums a little as it pumps air in or out to keep the pressures evenly spread. It was delivered within half a day of us saying we were ready for it. Takes away the homely feel of his bedroom but I’m sure we will get used to it. We have all had a go at whizzing him up and down and back and forth with the excuse of finding the best configuration for the bed. At least we managed to tidy his bedroom at last although today he said “Where’s my stuff” in a very grumpy voice. Not to worry, it’s all there, just tidier! We continue to have friends and relatives with him all the time and the nurses are a great comfort. David sleeps a lot and the medication is increasing – mainly pain control now. If you want to visit you will be welcome just give us a quick call first. The nurses have started varying the time they come so the phone call is important so we can help you miss them. David’s flat is 111, Wyndham Crescent, Burnham SL1 8HJ. Check with Mike or Pat phone numbers below. On the football front David will be disappointed to miss the trip to Weymouth and the one to Poole coming up during the next week.
