So there was a mass exodus after Mark Beels departed then

  • 3 weeks later...

The article quotes a clearly disappointed Roger Merton as saying ‘he has quite a young family and feels that he wants to spend more time with his children’, why did Conner commit to the job then as he must have known what was involved having coached the reserve side for two seasons

Yes, but you try not to let people down in the process, reading between the lines of the press article Roger is clearly disappointed isn't he

We move on.

Monkey8 - It's easy to say 'we move on' but Roger's scrabbling around now for a new Manager in only the first six weeks of a new campaign, that's hardly ideal is it.

Part and parcel though isn't is..

Monkey8 - It's easy to say it's 'part and parcel' isn't it but, like I said, poor Roger is left scrabbling around for a new Manager in only the first six weeks of a new season, that's not ideal is it.

Don't believe everything you read Clifford.

I never believe these sort of statements anyway such as 'wanting to spend more time at home’, I’ve heard it too many times before and that’s never the real reason for a Manager or Coach leaving a Club in the lurch as Neil Conner has done

Of course you've never left anybody in the lurch - or have you?

You say you don't believe the statement then you have a go at Neil as if you do believe it. I know you are just fishing so enough said.

I wasn't having a go at Neil Conner, I don't even know him, all I'm saying is that it must be very frustrating for Hoddesdon that he downed tools when he did

Where are your kids? See them much? Spend time and money looking after them?

Winslow Boy - What on earth has that got to do with this thread, my point was why didn't Neil Conner sever ties at Lowfield in the close season to give Hoddesdon the opportunity and a fighting chance to find a new Manager prior to the new campaign
