Crawley 0 - Baldock 1. Was a very tight game both gk's forced into good saves, game could've gone either way, wrong decisions and poor quality in the final 3rd cost us, which is such a shame because we've been so good so far in that area.

Tough ask to play Friday, struggling for numbers and bodies as we picked up another serious injury last night.

Is your guy ok?  I didn't see what happened to him.

Thought you were excellent in the first 20 minutes and thought we could be in for a long night, but we were stronger in the second part of the first half.  Our goal was really well taken and I thought we limited you in the second half although it was heart in the mouth stuff with that header going just wide right at the end.

We did well considering we had to play Sunday and Tuesday.  Good luck in the Vase.

FA CHALLENGE CUP Preliminary Round Replays

1-3* Kings Langley v Northwood (120)

A report on this one from a 'Windy' on another Forum:

FA Cup Preliminary Round replay - King's Langley 1 Northwood 3 after extra time - Attendance 120 - Admission £6 including pretty basic programme

One of the more local grounds for me that I hadn't ticked off previously, so, this one fell right for me with a draw on Saturday.

King's Langley newly promoted to step 5 started brightly and had several good chances in the opening minutes to score, however, the match soon settled down to a stalemate of a first half.

The second half was heading the same way until an incident just in front of the Northwood bench when a home player was on the ground and a Northwood player needlessly took a kick at him while trying to get the ball. We've all seen what happens next - everyone piles in and the referee loses control. He ends up booking both number 8's ! King's Langley then took the lead on 73 when Mitchell Weiss slotted the ball under the keeper from just inside the area, but a real howler from keeper Ant Ladyman let a speculative Nana Asamoah strike through his hands at his near post to send us into extra time.

Northwood took the lead for the first time on 103 mins when Rob Hastings powerful drive thumped against the left hand post before nestling in the other corner of the net, and the icing on the cake came when Hastings cross in stoppage time was put into his own net by Luke Ladyman as he tried to clear the ball.

Northwood are now away at Barton Rovers in the next round, but full credit to King's Langley who went out with their heads held high.

CRAWLEY GREEN 0-1 BALDOCK TOWN

Admission & prog £5.00 2x filled rolls and "delicious hot drinks" £4.50

Attendance 25 (h/c was about twice that, but maybe included comps/freebies/BR players)

After the veritable goalfests I've seen in Ms. Browne's parish, this was something of a comedown but it wasn't for want of trying. Of course, no Baldock game would be complete without HyperAngus who, fresh from his lino duties here last week, must have given the half-time team talk as the only goal came shortly after the restart.

Are you sure you were in the right parish - we tend to see very little in the way of goals in darkest Yorkshire.

Agreed. Both defo finish up there if squads stay the same. Tough league this year.

Yeah Tays is ok, soft tissue damage on his ankle. Ambulance took 2 hours to arrive.
