Just thinking out loud. I see Ryan Bird has left Portsmouth today. He can play higher that's not a doubt, but maybe a short-term deal could suit both parties until our strikers are back?

 

Wouldn't have thought Ryan Bird will want to drop down to our level and risk an injury.

Also can you imagine the sort of wage he was on or would want? No doubt a Conference National or at the very least an ambitious Conference South club would be keen on him.

Short-term as I mentioned. Helps him get fit & not rush into his next move. A bit like we do when we look to get players fit who have not had a lot of first-team game time where they get fit playing at a lower level. Plus as I said it was just a thought...

By all accounts already signed somewhere, though not sure where... there is no way he would have had his contract cancelled by mutual consent if he had not lined something up already. Sure we will hear in the next couple of days his next destination.

I think they liked him at Cambridge, so maybe back there!
