Sunday 31st August

FA CHALLENGE CUP Preliminary Round

2-3 AFC Dunstable v Uxbridge

A brief report from another Forum by a so called groundhopper known as 'Ramsgate'::

Sunday 31 August 2014 - FA Cup - Attendance: 130

AFC Dunstable (blue & white trim) 2-3 Uxbridge (red & white)

Scorers: AFC Dunstable (Hall 44 pen & 60 pen) Uxbridge (Dennison 23, Moore 78 & 90)

Pitch: fine, just a few ripples - Weather: cloudy, sunny and warm

AFC Dunstable's two goals came from the penalty spot and apart from that Uxbridge were on top for most of the game. Uxbridge applied two lengthy spells of pressure and it took some heroics from the home back line and rearguard to keep them to three. Chris Moore came off the subs bench to score the equaliser and the late winner.

Would not say Uxbridge were on top for most of the game. It was pretty much a very tight affair. Our keeper did make a couple of great saves when they were chasing the game at 2-1 down, but Uxbridge and the match officials felt a draw would have been a fair result.
