Should be a decent crowd at Saffron too. I reckon up to 300ish.

Good luck to all SSML teams. Think St Mags got a great chance at home to Romford... Codicote will give Tilbury a game as well.

Hertford could cause a shock too?

Lets hope so

SW gets some very big crowds...that league is well supported.

We had a few Halstead fans that had made the trip (again) on Tuesday night.

Got to say they are one of the nicest clubs we have had the joy of meeting.

Wgcfc have an over subscribed coach for the trip to Saffron Walden, where we aim to maintain our great start to the season. Will be tough, but cut out the errors and there is enough in the team to get a result.

Onwards and upwards

Someone is going to have to explain the Codicote vs Tilbury result to me.

The FA website has it at 1-1 after 90 mins then 2-9 after extra time.

It's not the amount of goals scored in extra time that is surprising but that extra time was played.

I thought first games level at 90 mins go straight to a replay.

Athletic picked up a comfortable 3 points against Ampthill who have struggled at the start of this season following an exodus of management and players over the summer.

Tring dominated from the start and had a number of chances to score but restricting the home side to a single shot saved by Matt Evans midway through the half.

Tring were rewarded for their efforts and took the lead just before the break with Chris Vardy exchanging passes with Trevor Gibbs before Vardy shot home from 12 yards across the keeper.

H/T ATFC 0-1 TAFC

The second half continued with Tring in the ascendancy and again restricting Ampthill to a solitary chance in 45 minutes. Athletic left it late to make sure of the game. In the 81st minute, Taylor Collins cut in from the right and played in Greg Deer who was fouled as he poised to shoot. Trevor Gibbs scored the resulting penalty, his 3rd in 2 games

Gibbs had a further opportunity to add some gloss to the result but the usually reliable marksman squandered a last minute penalty to make it 3.

Another good performance for Athletic and 3 wins on the trot will be pleasing for Julian Robinson after a slow start.

Did u go to Bedfont today, bit of a shock there

Yes, not SSML related other than AFC Dunstable could now meet Bedfont & Feltham:

Yet another match report stolen from another forum by me without crediting the original author.

F. A. Cup Preliminary Round

BEDFONT & FELTHAM 3-2 LEIGHTON TOWN

Admission £5.00 Programme £1.00 CB & T £3.70

Attendance 74 in the ground, a few thousand just passing by.

A disaster from beginning to end. The M25 was chock-a-block around Heathrow, all traffic lights seemed to be on red, or were timed to change to red as I approached and Hatton Road itself is in the middle of being resurfaced and "improved" with the usual obstructions. Needless to say, it wasn't until just after 3-00 that I eventually pulled into the car park although luckily the game did start a few minutes late and there were still a few holy scriptures available.

The first half was as dull as the weather and only enlivened by the procession of incoming flights, but this gave no indication of the horrors to come. A totally needlessly given away penalty followed by a thunderous free kick and another well crafted goal seemed to put the hosts well out of sight, but Mark Bunker and an own goal reduced the arrears and gave us a sliver of hope. Unfortunately the game became increasingly niggly and bad-tempered resulting in a red card apiece (theirs for a punch and ours (Christian Lester) for what I assume was continued dissent) and it was no surprise that the referee played over six minutes of added time.

So it's Bedfont who go forward to meet either AFC Dunstable or Uxbridge (who play tomorrow) and my journey home was only slightly less frustrating.

Up against it 1st half, Chesham res looked strong and created some good half chances, but clean sheet at half time was well fort.

2nd half was a bit end to end to start with then we found a rhythm and took our chances. We looked fitter and stronger than Chesham as the game went on. Must start better though.
