Vs Chesham

Just wasn't our day today. Our forwards missing, the dreadful weather and just not getting the rub of the green all conspired to help Chesham beat us.

Not the end of the world but pisses you off that Chesham don't seem to have to do a lot to turn us over, whenever we've played them of late.Definitely becoming our bogey side.

Things could have been a lot different had Adam Cornell taken his chance which Shane Gore saved superbly,at 1-1 the game would have taken on a totally different complexion.Wasn't to be,though.

The scoreline definitely flattered Chesham's play. That said they missed a load of chances in the 2nd half,as well as the penalty.

On the day we just didn't do ourselves justice and went down with a whimper when the third goal went in.Shame we couldn't have shown a bit more character and put up a bit more of a fight but I suppose it was understandable, given the way the game had gone.

For me,best player in a Slough shirt was Reece Yorke. He's getting better with every game. There weren't many to rival him for MOTM  unfortunately.

Next up Histon.

I think if they were enthusiastically cheered off the pitch after being done3-0 it would seem sarcastic or ironic. A number of people (myself included) did comiserate with the players.

The fact is some players turned up but neither did the noise! Once I heard noise not good enough today!

Watched all the home games plus Burnham away and I think the game today and vs Biggleswade show some of the physicality needed to compete in this league. Whilst Slough play some great football I think sometimes in the middle of the park we can get over run. Today in particular I thought Chesham and especially their no 8 won too many of the scraps , they often picked up the second ball and that put far to much pressure on the back four, maybe we need to have a holding player just behind Short and McClurg. Saying all of that thought we really miss Johnny Dyer , he is always moving and creates a lot.

Anyway onwards and upwards, not easy to play football in that crappy bank holiday weather !!!!

I thought Chesham were the better side today and were well worth their win. They have been doing well at this level for a while though and we are new to it so we shouldn't be too disheartened - a good lesson for everyone. It might have been different had Adam put away one of his chances but at the end of the day they might have had a few more too. How good is Darren Purse!?

Blimey Marcus your brave taking on two of us lol.

All I am saying is we have to play our part as well and today I don't think we did. I don't think we played as bad as some are saying especially in the first half where to honest I think we slightly edged it.

Anyway onwards now to Sat

We missed our chances they didn't pretty much the story of the game

Both teams had spells of pressure but unfortunately their keeper made a couple of good saves and were punished

Got to admit we do seem to get overrun too easily at times but will happen especially when chasing the game

Their was chants early 2nd half attacking the covered end but once it was 3-0 was always going to be quiet as the game was done and dusted

The 10 mins or so when we missed 2 chances followed quickly by 2 pretty soft goals ultimately decided the game. Fine margins producing what on paper looks a comprehensive loss

Are u actually going there?? U can't hear my voice even wen I yell let alone chant?? Ur the one with the big gob

I'll take that as a compliment! Surely everyone should join in loud or quiet or yet again it's down to 4 or 5 of us, and then those that don't even bother joining in criticise, it's pretty rude and irritating tbh. (And it happens every season) it was packed under the stand and I expected it to be loud, we started the red card chant and what 10-15? joined in MAX. Same second half they were started and quickly ground to a halt. You can't force people to chant but if you don't join in you can't criticise others for doing the same now can you?

Agree with you Sue,that we were edging the game by half time and were very unlucky to find themselves 1-0 down but come the second half we failed to get back into contention and two quick Chesham goals knocked the stuffing out of us.

Try as we might we just didn't put enough pressure onto the Chesham defence and had trouble holding the ball up, up front and bringing our wide men to the fore.Too many of our offensive players had off days to trouble a rather ordinary looking Chesham team. .

Can't win them all.Just a 'bad day at the office'.

Thought we were on top throughout the first half, unfortunately with no covering down that end it's impossible to "support" also with the inclement weather the vast majority were under the stand. (Probably a good call- it was not a nice journey home for nearly two hours soaked through)
