Paulton Rovers v Slough

Tough game with chesham but they haven't had the best of results so no reason to fear them.

We did well yesterday to rescue a point after a 1st half to forget where almost nothing went to plan

Tough on Smith getting injured again but it seemed to give us an opportunity to change formation a bit and we were hugely more dangerous with witham and Dobson more advanced with Cornell who deserved a goal. Can always rely on Cornell to give his all & has got goals fairly regularly when he gets mins

New level brings new challenges and I think we learnt another lesson yesterday. its great that we showed the character to rescue something

Just in regards to yesterday, which not too many people have picked up on, but the wind played a huge part in the game, coupled with the slope made it very difficult going uphill, you only need to judge from Jakes kicking, as he has without a doubt one of the best kicks I am sure in the league from his hands and off the ground, yet he was struggling to get past the half way line first half, whereas second half sometimes they were going through to the keeper, this makes it very difficult to get out, and you end up having to defend a lot, I agree we did not play great however, but as I said the wind has a big impact on that.

We will not be able to bring Scott Harris back from Ashford, as he had to come off injured after 50 minutes with a groin strain, so our injury luck goes from bad to worse.

We had 5 strikers and are now down to 2 fit (as Daryll should be fine by tomorrow)

Not a lot more to add to what's already been said.

The wind and slope was a big advantage but also our inability in the first half to pass to each other meant we put ourselves under a lot of pressure and really struggled to get the ball forward to create anything worthwhile.

Second half, with the advantages in our favour, we produced a great fight back and fully deserved to get a point from the game.

My MOTM was Jake Sommerville who produced one blinding save that preserved our well earned point.
