Paulton Rovers v Slough

I just hope we get a ref who takes no nonsense with backchat and hassle from players I saw Paulton play Cirencester  last season and the complaints to the ref and opposition players was constant and not well dealt with  Of course they were the play-off winners from the S&W league and haven't started as well as we have .

Just to answer the question on Searsy and Warren, Searsy is back from his holiday, and is looking to get some games locally to get his fitness where it needs to be, and we will be sitting down with him at that stage, however he went over on his ankle at work, which has put him back, I think he may be there Monday to see Kev.

Warren is an issue, he had a private MRI scan on his knee and it has come up a little inconclusive, he has damage to his ACL, however at this stage we are not sure to what extent (the report said he had disruption to the ACL).

I have managed to call in a bit of a favour and he is being seen by a top specialist in the next couple of weeks, who has seen the scan and will talk to him in more detail about the injury, however there is a chance that he could have torn his ACL which could mean a reconstruction like Foulser, which will be a huge blow, and would mean he will not kick a ball this season.

Obviously if this is the case we will need to try and help him as much as possible, in terms of support, both financially (as he is self employed also) and also personally.

I would say at this stage nothing is conclusive, and we just need to keep our fingers crossed for him, but if it is worse case scenario to lose 2 players of Foulser and Warrens ability in the space of 4 months to ACL injuries would be extremely bad luck, especially when in my career I have only played with 3 people who have had this injury.

Luke Knight may not quite make the squad tomorrow now, as he might just need an extra couple of days, however his return is imminent.

The report from Hitchin said that Paulton never stopped whinging and whining to the Ref from first whistle to the last.

Pretty certain we can expect the same today.

Banbury done that against us in the FA Cup match at thier place a few years back, glad to say that the more they moaned the more the ref turned agaist them until they lost all thier composure and we run out easy winners.

PS Did'nt one of Banbur's fans whack the ref as he walked off at the end of the match?

Couldnt be there today but I think Irish Adrian got it just right..........................................unbeaten after 5 games , 3 of them away.............................and so nearly even better with those two last minute equalisers in midweek games.

Really can be onwards and upwards

Well done boys

No coincidence I think that all the goals came at the end down the slope with the wind behind. Still, our first 45 was our worst performance of the season but the lads showed great fight and spirit and might well have nicked the game, as did Paulton but for a great save from Somers at the end. More bad news on the injury front with Ed pulling his hamstring. A big opportunity for Adam Cornell now although he looked to be limping at the end!

Hollis my MOM, but no-one outstanding today. COYR!

Excellent comeback after what was our worst performance first-half in a long, long time!

Thought Cornell did really well when he came on and caused Paulton a lot of problems.

Also thought that Dobbo stepped-up and demanded more of the ball second-half and got us going more. Second-half it also seemed more of a 4-3-3 than a 4-5-1 as Dobson & Witham played a lot higher up the pitch and we were a lot better.

Anyone know where Darryl Thomas was?

Unbeaten after 5 games. Onto Chesham, who we still want revenge for after that play-off final defeat all those years back!

With Ed Smith looking likely to be out for Chesham game and Darryl Thomas ill and Adam Cornell a possible doubt,

Hatchet looks like he will have to be recalled rather sharpish from Ashford loan.

Least he's on form,as he scored yesterday,so that's 2 from 2.

Definite game of two halves, partly I think down to the large slope on that pitch.  First half we were quite poor, struggling to string the passes together, and I thought we missed the ability of Thomas who is very good at running into space up front.  The second half was quite different with two well taken goals.

The players showed great character dealing with going behind for the first time this season, but obviously we don't want to make a habit of it, especially in the manner we conceded.  Once we get the ball down and don't rush it, and actually pass and move, we can be as good as any team in the league, and we did that yesterday in the second half.

Big test Monday, will be very interesting to see what comes of it.  We've done really well to still be unbeaten.  COYR!
