Bill of Shenfield
Won 2 - 0, own goal and Richard Halle free kick. Played well at times but not so well at other times.
blue pilgrim
After two disappointing defeats, any win will do and overall I think we deserved it. The first half was a bit niggly with both teams engaging in too much of the verbals. Our goal was awarded to Junior Appiah, although it could have been given as an og. The second half was better, capped with a fine free kick from Halle for the second. It was a shame that we then decided to defend for the last 20 minutes but I guess that was understandable after the mauling at Margate. We were without Sappleton and Benjamin but Seedy Njie put in a good shift without much support. A word too for the Ref, who had a good game and kept a lid on things in that tetchy first half. jl
The result was critical today and I thought our young side really showed what they were made of and produced an excellent result. Conditions were tough but we played them better and deserved the win Well done lads...more of the same Satirday please.
billericayboy28
Wasn't the best game we're going to see all season but we was comfortable throughout and was good to see 3 points and a clean sheet. Any reason why both Sappleton and Benjamin weren't in the squad?

Brightside Bloke
A fair result played in crap conditions. The ref's ten yards was a joke for Halle's free kick. Nigel would have taken bigger steps without as much as a stretch, but Halle dealt with it superbly Nice to have a win after Margate. Well done lad's great team effort. GazzaBTFC
The conditions contributed to the style of play but it was an essential win to get under our belts. Well done lads...
Billericay56
Cannot question commitment but am at a loss why we do not use the midfield more as when we do we look a different side. Just kicking the ball high to the opposition makes it easy for them to defend. Also think we give the ball away far too much when we are defending. However a welcome win from a side that worked really hard for the 94 minutes. Hope stapps returns on Saturday.
Ryan.c
It may have been filth-laden but given the forward situation and the defeats against Harrow and Margate, 3 points and a clean sheet was needed. Overall we deserved it against an East Thurrock side who only threatened towards the end. Classic OG for our first! Hopefully Chris Benjamin will be back Saturday. Rich.m
Can someone cut the pitch please, we need to encourage our lads to play on the floor, the longer grass wont help that situation. Good 3 points on to dulwich, another tough game

Nitetime Neil
" A word too for the Ref, who had a good game and kept a lid on things in that tetchy first half. " Nice to read praise for a referee, I also thought he handled the game really well, you could clearly hear him talking to and explaining things to the players, something you just can't do at "Big Football" - made such a difference. Loved Richard Halle constantly calling him "Westie" as though he was a close friend !!! (The ref was called Neil West...)
