STFC in the Community 14/9/14

Recommended Posts

As mentioned previously, STFC has been trying to strange a promotion event in Slough.

I can now confirm that this event will take place on Sunday 14th September in the Observatory shopping centre in the area outside Primark. Some of you may have noticed the new banners hanging just inside the turnstiles on Saturday which have been bought for this event.

We do have all day to do whatever we want to promote the Club, so we need volunteers please. We also need a couple of tables and means to transport them to the Observatory if anyone can offer them.

The idea is to hand out fixture list leaflets, hold some competitions, and maybe have some merchandise on offer for sale. But we do need people to help us do this.

Please help us out. If you can, please contact me on here or speak to me at a game. I'm also looking for any other ideas for what we can do.

I'm still trying to get some joy out of the major supermarkets however this seems unlikely at the moment.

Thanks.

PS moderators can this be pinned please.

Just to remind everyone that the club need YOU to help promote YOUR club in the community on Sunday in the Slough Observatory.

You only have to give up an hour or so of your time from 12pm onwards, so we are not asking too much from you.

So, please respond on here if you are willing to help the club you love so much a few minutes of your time and promote it to the local community.

Thanks to Mike, Nathan, Gary, Kay and Mark for coming along to help today.  Most of the enquiries were about the youth section but a few were interested in the club itself.

Enquiries are being made about doing it again but on a Saturday morning and making it bigger than what we did today.  Watch this space, we will need people to help!

I dropped the match day posters off at some pubs around the town after the game last night and made a point of chatting to a few of regulars about the club - some of whom I knew it had to be said. Same story in every pub - they would be interested in going if the ground was in the town. So while I think it's great we're doing all this promotion, and should continue to do so, until the powers that be pull their [****!!****]ing fingers out and get the ground back in the town, we are banging our heads against a brick wall. That said, well done to those that braved the Queensmere this afternoon....above and beyond.
