dannyriding
Lets start a prediction then fellas:- I personally think this will be another tough game and as TB states every team is going to up their game to beat us. So my predioction is a nervy but well fought 0-1 to the gate (att 236) and if we can stay injury free .... bonus

Cookie
Hardest league game yet I reckon. The team need to be "up for this one" moreso than in the two previous games. You never know with Harrow, one day great the next day poor. We have the ability and the know how but we do need to step up now and as TB says we can be better and I would expect us to show improvement with each & every game that passes. We are not exactly looking like world beaters at the moment though it seems we are winning games ugly & comfortably enough & thats ok. Would be nice to see a striker on the scoresheet but any goal/goals from anywhere will do,obviously.
michael
a draw i reckon-that'll do as well
dflman
No it won't. Wins do wonders for fan morale and the gate receipts
upthegate
Yes it will. A draw away at Harrow would be a good result ...... as long as home games are won.
Wivenhoe Urchin
Cookie seems to speak the right stuff here. Harrow are and have been generally unpredictable in this league. When it seemed a home game against them was going to be another win like all the others last season they suddenly turned up and 2-4 was the score. Also an away game there has never been easy for us. It tends to be in this league you have teams you would like to beat home and away, and some others very difficult to beat wherever you play them. If a team looks a poor side then you want 6 pts, providing they don't change their team. Cray we beat 1-6 away and then later in the season their side improved, and we lost 1-2. michael
7 points from 3 games ,and without Beales and wassamer, plus a bit of disruption with nelson and Riviere injured;then 7 out of 9 points does it for me. At that level of points accumulation,Margate would win the league. Good enough for me
Cookie
Despite what you say & despite what I say about it being a "toughy" I will still be dissappointed were we not to come away with a victory. ALL the squad are good enough and replacements for injured players shouldn't disrupt the team or make our form any worse. This is the first season I can recall where I have no concerns about substitutions being made. ALL are good enough this season and so they should be with their cvs'. They just need to "apply" themselves on the day. If the teams performance improves from the first two games I can see us coming away with a 3-0 or 4-0 victory. Sooner or later we are going to go on a goal scoring streak big time so it would be nice to start the ball rolling v Harrow. Its time we showed everyone just how good we can be. michael
I think the team/squad is 'quite good', but i'm not certain that they are 'that good'(a bit of hype associated with all of this ) and/or that the team is streaks ahead of anybody else. a bit of stuff kicking around about the team as assembled being conf south quality-probably is- and then that it could survive in conf premier-absolutely not. so yep-best margate team in years-but not exactly light years ahead of the other better teams in this division. You never cease to amaze me Michael - the general opinion is that TB has assembled the best Ryman prem side this side of the 50s, and you think they are and I quote "quite good". All hype aside if our chairman/benefactor is paying the reported wage bill that is being bandied around then yes this team could and should compete in Conf Prem more so than your second team Dover Athletic who IMO are coming straight back down to earth with a bump. If we dont achieve promotion this year then I will be extremely humble, but dare I say I wont be the only one in non-league footie that thinks you really havent got your ickle finger on the pulse of whats going on in this league. Wivenhoe Urchin
Remember that Terry Brown's AFC Wimbledon never won this league and took several years to get promoted via the play-offs. If you are the team to beat then you will get beat and it is how you deal with getting beat that ultimately determines whether you are even title contenders, let alone favourites. michael
It reads as though we ground out another 3 points today-very pleased -its winning the ugly games -and the majority are ugly-that wins things. second best defensive record in the league as well. all looking good-only need another 16 wins from the remaining 43 games and ryman premier status is minimally preserved. should be 'doable '

Cookie
Phewwwww that wasn't a game for the fainthearted and I should know.Yes 3 wins from 3 can't be knocked and if our 1st two games were won "ugly" then I would say this was "real ugly". There is room for improvement though (slooppy understrength or wayward simple passes being the main culprit together with the final ball into the box) We are not in pre-season form thats for sure but the guys are getting results. Yesterday we did better than Harrow did in the 1st half and probably deserved the lead though had we put better balls into the box we could probably have gone into the break a goal or more to the good.We weren't without scares at our end with the 2 or 3 very tricky and talented forwards they have coming close on several occasions, helped might I say by some inadequate defending and some poor shooting by them. 2nd half we were caught out by those tricky forwards of theirs early on,standing off a player doing trickery but getting no-where but allowing him to pass the ball allowing a shot to go into the net from the scorer. For 5 minutes we seemed to be in panic mode and things were looking grim but credit to the guys as they pulled themselves together and dominated (possession-wise) the last 30 mns i.m.o. and could have scored more.Praise must be given to the team for that.Again though the last ball in left much to be desired. Okay we got lucky with the winner but it was just about deserved overall. Stuart brilliant,Johnson his usual self in good form,Taylor slotting in at full back well and a mention for Jason Prior who came on late and did more than enough to warrant a stating place next time out. Still unbeaten but we need more, much much more if we want to win this title. It will come I know and wins are wins, true, but I would rather we won more convincingly than we are doing at present. But thats just me! Roseyboy
Man utd spent 10 years "mostly" playing badly.... And winning... Not giving up. Tbh it doesn't matter how well you play, as long as you win and take your chances. Stats don't matter , I don't care about how much possession u have, shots on target etc... Goals matter end of. Up the gate- a month ago I dreamt of 'what if we win our first few games' 3 wins from 3 excellent start hats off the boys. I believe every other team will raise their game vs us.... It's their cup final. As long as at Xmas we are in top 5 and within 6/7 points of top.... We r in with a shout. C'mon!
