Guernsey Tom
From a personal perspective I am not sure that Robbie Williams is the best song to welcome the Gate on to the pitch
Cookie
What happened to "Singing the Blues". Would be great to hear that after any victory at the end of a game too, immediately after the full time whistle.
Coffin Ender
It could have been worse, 'Simply the Best' for example. Still it all fits in with being a 'modern', 'progressive' football club (which in reality means being soulless and bland).
dflman
Can never hear any announcement made immediately upon the final whistle as the home fans normally generate a fair bit of noise for a short while. At some stadiums the music is played so loud at the end that the fans congratulations to their team are drowned out. Now if that is the away team then turn it up more but for us please hold on for a few seconds
michael
Beat me too it GT. thought exactly the same (and in one of the friendlies).. I think something is 'missing' by not having BLUES BLUES BLUES I appreciate that' new people on board' may want to make their own mark by changing this ,but as GT posts- (and whilst i am ok with Mr Williams music) i don't feel this song is the right 'alternative choiice' amongst other things-all a bit corny and commonplace. I remember about 2/3 years ago-all this being debated-and no doubt this thread will turn into a thread of alternative choices as it usually does-but for me at least: 'if its not broken-do not mend it' and we can go all around the houses-but doubt whether anything is actually better than : BLUES BLUES BLUES-at volume
I am Spartacus
Sorry Michael checked with all contacts I have in the music industry but cannot find 'if its not broken-do not mend it'. Maybe you can hum a few bars to give me a clue.
Guernsey Tom
Perhaps the club will give us an explanation of their choice personally I still prefer "singing the blues", we could of course add views to the Facebook fraternity and see what they think. michael
the only thing i did not like about today. that given-have to concede that the team certainly did entertain. It just does not set the mood like 'blues blues blues' just the same imo. go to 50 football grounds and 20 of them will probably play 'let me ent ...'-just so common and corny. Singing the blues had an element of class and uniqueness about it imo -not my bat and ball though Obviously the run of good form is nothing to do with TB and the playing staff, and down to this good , but oh so cheesy song ;so maybe a deal could be done. maybe keep on playing mr williams until Margate lose-and then revert back to blues blues ? hoping for a long wait
Cookie
I agree with all the above. BLUES! BLUES! BLUES! However if that song has gone to the sin bin how about this one for the away supporter Oh and send a copy to the Maidstone lot too l.o.l. You ain't seen nothin' yetB-b-b-baby, you just ain't seen n-n-nothin' yetHere's something that you never gonna forgetB-b-b-baby, you just ain't seen n-n-nothin' yet BACHMAN TURNER OVERDRIVE -YOU AINT SEEN NOTHING YET! michael
Maybe there are at least 3 of us 'singing from the same hymnsheet-. now three people are hardly a quorum-but do those responsible for 'chosing the music' have a slightly wider responsibility than making what may be personal choices ? BlueGate Alan
So the club should chose a song because it suits 3 people? I believe its called "out with the old, in with the new" Its certainly not a personal choice, so we should get used to it.
Jab_n17
to be honest does it really matter.......Maybe 'We Are The Champions' if we win the thing for a few weeks but not really a main concern !!!!!!
Chris1
Blues Blues please.
BlueGate Alan
Spot on Jab but it appears to a small minority, it does matter, not sure why.
Guernsey Tom
Its called history and tradition try telling Everton fans not to have the Z cars theme from the 60's or Liverpool not having you'll never walk alone, players come and go fans want other things important to them. Jab_n17
if it's THAT important have a ballot, then when the top song is decided speak to the owner or whoever decides what's played......still think it's a load of fuss to be perfectly honest
