Steph
You omitted that we lost to ten men after their defender was sent off early in the game.

OldTowner
I may see if I can go into work as well. Ha Ha. One game, one poor result. Let's give George a little more time shall we !!! One game for Gods sake. Get there Tuesday and show your support.
Steph
We all knew it was going to be a tough game. What is alarming is that we could not close the game down. I accept that at 1:0 after 13 minutes and, apparently, more organised than Kingstonian we should have continued to look for goals but when they equalised 5 minutes later surely the defence should have received more support from midfield. Then we equalise again in the second half but do not close the game down. We were undone by fast runners from deep.
lovely stuff
Strange game..Corey was excellent again and put away his two goals very well..Kingstonion's first two goals were from a corner and a free-kick..The last three were counter attacking breakaways from their own half..Most of the game was played in Kingstonions defensive half.It seemed the only time they entered our half was to counter attack and score. They offered no sustained pressure or possession in our half. What does that prove?? That currently we are defending set pieces poorly and we are vunerable to long straight balls and pacey forwards.(Is this because of lack of pace from our own centre backs, playing too high a line? or lack of communication from the keeper?)..Very poor debut from the new keeper it has to be said. I'm sure George will get things to improve quickly .We didn't look fit or play as a team.Maybe we should look at a longer run of pre-season games next year (and encourage players to take holidays in the gap between end of season and friendlies stating -if they can-,rather than during the friendlies.) Stan-lee look solid .Offered some presence and simple accurate passing.None of the other newbies really impressed.Stevens had a very poor game by his standards. i think we should have Corey,Kirby and Tyler as the core of the forward line. With them playing up top in a three (or with another forward such a Hope joing them) depending on formation and tactics. CD Towner
Kirby simply isn't a forward and we need him back in defence ASAP. Wasn't impressed with the new right back. Stanley did the best of the newbies I agree. When we went down to 10 men, we seemed happy to pass the ball sideways with no penetration.
lovely stuff
Kirby simply isn't a forward and we need him back in defence ASAP. I think that would require the signing of a least one (if not two) decent forwards.
CD Towner
Agreed we need 1 new forward but what about Cousins and Hope?
lovely stuff
They may be ok IF they both stay fit and play at top of their form all season.
thecoldend
Its one game!......... Against a top side with McCollin, Hammond and Pinney (sub) they have three very good forwards who could easily play in the Conference South or higher. Stanley looks a quality player. In George and Brad we trust... onwards and upwards to Harrow on Tuesday.
