Smudge
We certainly had the best out of our Guernsey trips,Nice warm hotels to sleep in,breakfast in bed even. Not so for the Gosport Borough entourage, who had to doss down in a field in a Tent. How times change in such a short time, hope Whyteleafe fair better, can get cold at night.Take a sleeping bag Lee Farmie. Lets face it, for the time of year and the brats on holiday from school in the glorious weather, hotel rooms are going to be at a premium. You would have thought someone would have thought of that !! sparky100
I think you will find that for pre season friendlies clubs visiting Guernsey have to make their own arrangements if they are staying overnight.

Jade
Here is what happened as far as I've heard on the local jungle drums.. Hotel booked and then closed down at short notice. No other hotel in Guernsey either has space or were prepared to put the team up. Have been rumours of certain teams playing up in the past inc. ones from CCL.. GB had the option to cancel the game and upset those booked their own way and also lose the opportunity of a game or camp. They decided to camp. Did the hotel go 'bust' Jade, or closed down by the Senate ?

Big J R
To save me having to dig out all my old books on WW!! and the occupation Jade, can you tell me what the ruling house was known as during the 1939-1945 era ? I'm sure my late uncle, a Guernseyman born and bred, always referred to it as 'The Senate'.
