Burnham v Slough

Recommended Posts

It is was another incident I thought, about being overrun in midfield. Shows you there was a hell of a lot of moaning which is ridiculous considering our previous competitive game saw us promoted!

The '10 minute moaner/s' is/are regular Slough supporters.

The incident that caused it was JD getting booked for dissent to the Ref.

I stood next to the said person/s and I think we were all (probably like most supporters) not very happy with JD getting booked in the way he did.

I think the problem was that the said person/s took it a step too far and started shouting at our managers trying to tell them how to do their job.

Because of the occasion I think it was said in the heat of the moment and hopefully won't be repeated.

No that was another incident, the 1 we heard was about 2 minutes into the game as we changed end to be behind the goal at the far end. And it was aimed at Dobo

Yeah, that was what I was referring to. Without scrolling back up to check, I am sure Bakes said he heard a few fans behind him having digs at our players and talking to him and Jon about tatics (which you can appriciate is annoying).

Your reply to me was regarding JD booking, which is a disagreement with the ref and not digs at the Slough players or mangement.

Just saying a difference between having a direct dig at our own players to disagreeing with a refs decision.

Think we should move on from this one now!

Bakes and I wanted to mention the 'issue' as it had annoyed us on the day but we know very well it's a very small minority that we are talking about. Think we draw a line under it now and not let this overshadow what was a very good first day for all of us in the new league!

Onwards and upwards to Hereford....

I went to stand behind the dugouts in the second half and did not hear any moaning. BTW I dont think the pitch helped Slough or Burnham , the ball seemed to slow up , I think someone mentioned the grass being too long which I think was right and would have affected our midfield players more than anyone. The fact that Slough have just been promoted, its the first game of the season, playing away and is a local derby, I think the team did brilliantly to carve out a win. Up until the last 20mins I did not think Burnham really troubled Sloughs defence and again I thought Yorke was outstanding at the back.
