Ramsgate today

Hope plenty make it over and enjoy a competitive game, but ultimately all come through unscathed.

Just had a look at ramsgate website and their match preview.

As you get older-the 'bitter rivalry' tends to diminish, but i remain flabbergasted by some of the stuff that the guy over there puts on their official site.

why the guy can't give an element of respect is just beyond me.

the comment about the beautiful south side compared with the estuary side is actually quite funny imo, but then he goes on to spoil it with the sarcastic comment about conference and league players-.

I'll never forgot the programme notes from about 6 seasons ago at a bank holiday fixture when they used their programme notes to criticise both club and officials of MFC.

you just don't do that.

the guy reaps what he sows .

pathetic

When I organised the first game for a trophy against Ramsgate, all the proceeds went to the "Herald of Free Enterprise" charity, the entrance fee was kept low and the teams played in the correct manner to respect each other and the cause, it seems the original ideas have been forgotten. Shame on Rams for charging so much.

I like the way that they are chrging £8 for league matches BUT £9 for this pre season friendly.

prob be their largest crowd of the season so their gona make the most of the 'extra' pound, but yes is a cheek....just don't draw tickets or programs

Margate were execptional 1st half and BENNETT shone for me.Ramsgate were overun and it was men v boys in that half.

2nd half, despite putting on our supposed better players (though none can really be classed as better than the others-they are all class players) we didnt really rub their noses in it and allowed them to win the half.

Yes, we still won in a canter but I was dissappointed with that 2nd half display despite having the large majority of possession, without punishing the Rams. We didnt really do anything when we did got through & we were somewhat failing in our finishing.

I presume they were told to keep away from injuries at that point and to just see things out, which they did precisely and superbly but I wouldnt like to see us in league games easing off like that should we be well in front. With better opposition that could be a mistake.

A good run out having said all that and an easy win. Now we will have to show what we did in the 1st half on a regular basis and if we do we wont be far out from where the bookies believe us to be at the end of the season.

Frankly I'd be worried if the Rams weren't having a pop at us. The more stick we get from other clubs, the better, because it means we are a threat to them.
