You may be saying it in a tongue in cheek way,Rebel 1965,but for a village team  they have a stadium,which would be a huge plus for our town side, and Burnham do remarkably well considering their fan base, and after all they are playing at the same level as us.

 

So I don't really think we can take the piss out of them. 

 

 

OK, they are doing very well considering they are a village with hardly any supporters who can't be arsed to travel a couple of miles to Beaconsfield.

 

They've reached a good level of football for which they can thank ex manager Martin Stone for but they really are punching above their weight.

 

Burnham lost most of their players because they still haven't been paid and are really fortunate to get Gary Meakins the ex SYCOB manager to bring most of SYCOB'S players to Burnham otherwise they would IMO be certainties to get relegated and return to their more natural level.

Agree with what you say here but surely it depends on the question of perception.

 

If you asked a Wycombe Wanderers fan about their view of Slough Town FC you would get an equally negative assumption about our club as they've gone from strength to strength and we've been left standing and declined from when we were fierce rivals.

That said I believe in what our club has achieved against the odds,just as Burnham have done in their case.

 

Rivalry banter will always happen but in all seriousness,non league clubs that over achieve should be applauded regardless of being in close proximity to, and competing against.

I think Wycombe and any other club for that matter would agree that we have some great support and will only get better as if we get our own ground and climb the leagues.

 

I see no reason why we couldn't be as big as Wycombe if we had our own ground.

Your right, there were some very hungry irate Slough Supporters at Leatherhead.

 

Not too difficult to lay on some Burgers etc.

 

Obviously some clubs just don't need the money.
