On 6 minutes a Chris Bourne free kick from twenty yards out goes over the bar.

Two minutes later Sam Mott saved well from a Dennis Oli header, from a free kick.

On 13 minutes Mott saved a snapshot from James Simmonds.

Five minutes later Hemel Hempstead won a corner, from which Oliver Thorne headed over.

Junior Luke carved out a great chance with an excellent cross into the middle, and Martin Tuohy just failed to reach the ball as it went across the goal.

On the half hour Kyle Connolly was given too much space on the left, but his cross sailed high over the bar.

On 33 minutes Martin Tuohy did well to get in a chip shot which drifted over the bar.

On 35 minutes Joey May played through to Tuohy, who touched on to Junior Dadson, who turned sharply and fired his shot inches wide.

The home side went ahead four minutes from half time, when Chris Bourne conceded a penalty, which was converted by Lewis Toomey.

Almost on half time Toomey ran on to a poor back pass but put his shot over the bar.

Three minutes after the interval Tobi Joseph made a good run but his cross was intercepted by the home defence.

Hornchurch drew level on 55 minutes, when Dadson made the running on the left and Martin Tuohy was waiting at the far post to touch the ball home.

Hornchurch came forward again, and Joey May sent over a good centre which Tuohy headed narrowly wide.

Aaron Beckles, who was previously with Gillingham (academy), Cheshunt, and Waltham Forest, replaced Martin Tuohy, and was soon in action. A free kick was played into the goalmouth, where Aaron Beckles challenged for the ball, along with the keeper, and Frankie Curley reacted quickest to place it firmly into the net on 71 minutes.

On 77 minutes Curley flicked on to Chris Bourne whose shot was well saved by the home keeper.

Hornchurch introduced several substitutes, and there was no further scoring.
