Can't work out with "Town" are that lowly thought of in the betting stakes.

I would of thought they would be around the middle with borg at the helm, although to be fair I haven't seen who you've bought in or shipped out this summer but I doubt you'll be that far down

Leiston have signed some decent experienced players after a good 2nd half of last season + old Bury Town manager is now Assistant Manager. I'd rate them at 16s or lower so 33 /1 is a decent bet.

Margate are the team to beat obviously as they apparently have a massive wage budget. I don't want to see them run away with the league....many people will want to see them trip up I think.

I think Town's odds will be much lower after 2 months of the season

Looks set to be the most competitive Ryman Premier for years, it's not just Margate who have been splashing the cash.

IMHO Margate are far too short in the betting, and I give their plastic Kent rivals every chance of giving them a close run.

Usual suspects Hornchurch, Dulwich, Kingstonian and Bognor will all be play off contenders, along with another big spending side in Leiston.

Two possible surprise packages could be Grays and newly promoted Peacehaven, both of whom have attracted high profile signings.

Bury and Not Police may struggle this season, and join Harrow, East Thurrock, Enfield, Wingate, Leatherhead and Witham, in what could be a ding dong battle to avoid the drop.

Margate are rightly the favourites, less than two weeks ago they were 5/1, they are solid jollies in my view.

Not sure Dulwich will be in the top 6 or so after selling Oztumer.

Also can't understand how every promoted team is shorter in the betting than the likes of Harrow and ET. Leatherhead are one example - they were in the RPL 3 years ago?, so will know what to expect, but they've sold Charlie Walker to Luton Town who bagged them 40+ goals last season. Who do they replace him with?

Maidstone will not be splashing as much cash around this season, but they along with Hornchurch and Kingstonian should be at the promotion end of the table next April.

That leaves a few others fighting it out to join them.

Essexboy mentions Grays, and I agree with him. They have signed some good players and have a good manager, they will be in the top 10, maybe pushing for a promotion place. Leiston as well will be having a go to make the play-offs. Billericay have a 'robust' looking squad that will also challenge, I'm not sure how they will cope with Craig Edwards tiki-taka approach on their bowling green of a pitch mind you.

At the bottom VCD, Bury and W&F will struggle. Also Leatherhead for aforementioned reasons. Hopefully Town will be comfortably mid table come the end of September and can push on from there.

Maybe a little flutter on us avoiding relegation would be a good bet.

Except all those that are members are effectively owners of the club, is that not correct?

Therefore members are not allowed to bet on ANY football under the new regulations in force from 1st August.

prediction from ontheterraces blog

"A heroic last gasp survival was secured on only the last day of the season after looking dead and buried by Christmas. Enfield Town have been doing it the hard way since they were formed. Despite being near the relegation places according to the bookies, I don’t see that myself as the form of the back end of last season would put them comfortably mid table. A community share issue scheme has been launched to further improve the club with debts being paid off in good fashion, combined with the great support of the ETFC Ultras and I think Enfield will be comfortable if not one of the surprise packages this season".

Prediction: Lower- Mid Table
