Rob Anderson answering questions on the on-going ground situation.

Sounds like a fantastic opportunity for Slough Town fans to get all their questions answered directly by the Council Leader.

A big thank you to whoever managed to organise this with Mr Anderson.... I will definitely be there on Thursday.

You will also have the opportunity to have your photo taken with the Play-Off trophy and a player of your choice.

These will then be printed for you to pick up at a later date.

The photos will not be published on any website, so they will be your own personal copies.

Money raised from this go into helping the club out this season.

I will also have a copy of the Celebration book for you to look at, with cards for you to take away to help you order one. (So far only two have been sold)

Understand Leader of Council, Rob Anderson will be there? - so I assume he will clear up what's going on re new ground - and finally a chance for people to ask him questions - so I guess important a good turnout and also important that people ask any questions they want answering.

After so long and with all the time and money spent (wasted?) I would like to think (hope!) as Leader he has a bit more to say. Irrespective of Gove and the Dfe who only came on the scene approx 2 years ago, can't work out why in council meetings everyone was for it and then they are somehow incapable of seeing it through.

In fact thinking about it.

Why tell the club you will do something and then not do it? (and then keep telling them that they are going to do it!) Seems grossly unfair on the club, supporters, town and people who run it. All quite embarrassing. Indeed leaving the club in limbo means that they (the club) can't make any decisions and who knows their may have been previous opportunities which in hindsight the club would have taken had they known that council would take 7 years and still counting. Just think its totally out of order and no way to behave or treat people.

It's called politics. It saves them having to actually do anything and the DfE under a Conservative led Government are a very convenient scapegoat.

Quite so.

IF the leader does see fit to attend, then this has to be the time to confront him, making sure, of course, you keep it polite.

Been there, done it, got the T-shirt.  Ranting, raving and swearing will totally defeat your cause.

Good Luck, and I'm watching this with great interest.

Yep I guess that's politics.

But to say in a manifesto that you are bringing the club back, which I assume would have won them votes and got councillors elected, could be construed as at best 'misleading the public'. To then pass motions which I am told were unanimous and tell the club on various occasions that everything should be completed by a certain date is again quite frankly, and at best, disgraceful. I note in the past 7 years that the obesity figures for Slough have deteroriated and are quite frankly shocking - and again my understanding is that the two proposals put forward by the club (both having received unanimous majorities in council, I believe) would have specifically tackled this issue. What a shame - and I think that whilst Gove and crew changed the goalposts (approx 2 years ago) that does not explain the 5 years previous to that. Or, forgive me, am I being too harsh?

Must say it was a joy to watch Steve Easterbrook fighting the club's corner last night. It was like he'd been let off the lead after years of trying to follow the right line to keep everything moving. Never seen him get so angry.

The short (!) version is that the council and DfE have identified their joint need for the site and are apparently going to work together to achieve mutual benefit. The lawyers are working on the section 77 terms to get the remainder of the site transferred to the council. Rob seemed to suggest there is also a team of architects planning the school design and the council is recruiting them to do the necessary work on any changes that are needed to the stadium design.

His suggested timetable was that the permission could be granted for this section 77 in a few weeks, with planning submitted in the autumn and it being on the desk of the Secretary of state around Christmas. Also the school project will not be allowed to develop ahead of the ground and sports facilities project. The school target date is January 2016.

This is of course all subject to planning permission and whether you actually believe it! They need to get Steve involved again too when the planning starts.

Although I had to leave before the Q&A ended I think that sums it up. Sounds like the club have been looking into Upton Park as an alternative. There was some disagreement between and Steve and Rob as to whether that would be feasible. I think we should be cautiously optimistic on Arbour Vale but it looks like there are plenty of hurdles to clear yet. I'd be amazed if it's done by January 2016.

Fair play to Rob for coming down and updating us and as always, so grateful to Steve for all the work he's put into trying to find us a home - he spoke up for the football club brilliantly last night, as did Mark Curtis.

According to Rob Anderson, Upton Court Park would be a 'political hot potato' if we ever tried to get a ground there.

It was great to see Steve vent his anger, which he was fully entitled to do, after 7 years of trying to get Slough back home.

As Stuntman says we should be cautiously optimistic but it seems once the Lawyers have sorted out section 77 the main hurdle will be the planning permission.

I think everyone who went last night would agree that Rob Anderson has got some guts as he knew it would be a tough night for him but unlike some he had the courage to do it. (I think he also showed that he and the council are firmly behind getting the club back playing in Slough)

Last night once again showed how lucky, as a club, we are to have an owner in Steve Easterbrook who is passionate about the club and wants what is best for the club not what is best for him financially. After all the hard work and money he has put into this project with having to find a place to build the ground then plan it, then being told several times to change minor details, then having huge hurdles like the free schools to overcome, I am sure most people would have given up by now. Not Steve however, he seems more determined than ever to see it through.

The question was asked if there was anything we could do right now to help and the answer was there is nothing right now but there might be things to be done when the planning application goes in. So we need to sit tight for now but be ready to help out soon.

On another note, I was pleasantly surprised that the managers are already aiming to get us promoted from the premier league as soon as possible, it might not be this season but possibly within a few years. with Tom Moran, George Frith and Alex Witham signed up already and possibly one or two more coming in temporarily the squad is looking strong.
