2014/15 Season Predictions

He was the only player who played in that game who has not signed for the club. Regarding the local connections, I don't know the answer to what has gone wrong in recent seasons. Every manager has players they can call upon and Phil Childs must have done something right in his previous roles as many have followed. Once a few commit it often mothballs too.

Berko to win Prem, With Colney Heath 2nd.. Bedford or WGC to win Division 1. Edgware to finish top half, which will be a decent come back season, starting fro scratch.

Div 2, Ealing to be top 2????  Obviously have more of an idea when I go to watch the game Saturday.

Rumour coming from Jets is that Putman is back. If true, that could put them right up there, especially if they can continue on from their late run of form last season. Jets have always been Tasker's (Berko GK) bogey team, if their clashes are the title-deciders, it will go Jet's way.

Langford to walk Div 1, I'm hearing there is money there and they have attracted players from Dunstable's SSML title winning side.

Its true

It's a huge lack of ambition from the lad but personally, I'm excited to see him back in this league again.

He had various offers from higher clubs but nowhere would treat him as good as Jets do. I've heard he gets keys to the club house, is allowed to pour his own pints, has new socks for each game, gets moulded and studded boots in all three of the primary colours, he's allowed to smoke in the changing room, gets lifts to and from the ground and a goal bonus worth of a League 2 side. You can turn down that sort of offer. I wonder if, with Putman back, they will get the ground improvements in place and push on up the football pyramid....?

I was told by a Oxhey offical at a Oxhey Jets v Hanwell Town game a few seasons back that Putman would only leave Oxhey Jets FC if the money was right or he could give up his day job as he doesn't drive and doesn't want to spend lots of time and money traveling to games and training.

But im also glad he is back at Oxhey Jets FC hope they do well next season. 80 odd goals the other season amazing.

But Putman couldn't score past the Duffys  ;)

Anybody manage to get to a Herts Charity Shield game this weekend? See anything to influence your views on this topic?

There were some interesting results. Thought Jets would take St Margs to the cleaners with their front line. Putman played but interestingly didn't score and didn't take a pen?! And the 0-0 draw at Pancake Lane. Heard the King's Langley skipper had a shocker and then missed his pen. My mate was there and said Levy played some lovely football on an immaculate pitch, just couldn't score, that might be my first outing of the season next weekend.

I think St Mags were lucky to take it to pens.

Hertford Town comfortably beat a young Tring side and the margin should probably have been greater.

The Tring website has a very detailed match report and the HTFC site has the photos.

HTFC were without three key players too so encouraging that we now have a bit more strength in depth.

Still think we need another clinical out-and-out striker though.

My pre-season predictions still stand for now.

Every team needs a clinical striker Dog, but they're hard to find. Berko have Christie and Jets have Putman so that's why I think it'll be between those two teams for the league. Anyone else got a gem in their team that'll score 30+ goals?

Anyone know where former Holmer Green hotshot Dean Allen is at this season? Still with Aylesbury?

Our young left-back George Laffar, CDM Louis Rose (both ankle injuries) and skipper Tommy Wade (suspended). Did you go along?

3 good players to be fair.

No I missed out but a few of our guys went over to watch.

Said you have done some work on the ground...looking good.
