Tony Lamacraft

It is with great sadness that I have to announce the tragic loss of out first team coach Tony Lamacraft who passed away after falling ill after our pre season friendly at home to AFC Kempston on Saturday.

Tony collapsed in the car park after complaining that he was feeling hot and needed some fresh air. Members were on hand and used the clubs defibrillator, whilst waiting for an ambulance crew who arrived quickly followed by an air ambulance team.

During this period It appeared that the efforts of the medical team and trained club personal had revived him but Tony suffered a further relapse and despite having to hand the best medical attention available, after a prolonged attempt to save him sadly Tony was lost.

Our thoughts go out to his family and we are all in shock at the moment. The club will publish further details when appropriate. The first team fixture on Tuesday has been cancelled.

Terribly sad news, I didn't know Tony very well but we did come across each other on a number of occasions when he was at Knebworth & Biggleswade Town. A nice bloke & a true football person. Condolences to his friends & family.

Extremely sad news. Tony did so much good for local football especially Knebworth Youth and Knebworth FC.

My thoughts are with his friends, family and all at Stotfold.
