jl
We won 4 3 in an entertaining game. Jeff Imudia got stretchered off after colliding with a post. Heard it's not too bad - hope that the case. Our scorers were Imudia Campbell and Sapps came on and scored within a minute and again from a penalty at the end. Good workout for the teams. Ref was absolutely shocking. God help us if that's the benchmark for the season.
blue pilgrim
I think at this level we will have to get used to the fact that the standard of refereeing is very patchy at best. It's a real joy when you get a referee who lets the game flow, tries to avoid carding players and ignores trhe divers. Most of those get promoted to higher leagues. Billericay or Harrogate
After a quiet first half when we went in 1 nil up the game exploded into life. Hemel missed a dodgy penalty and eventually we went 3-2 down but pulled back for a great win. I have never been a great fan of Sapps. He has fantastic talent but clearly struggles with bulk and fitness. There has clearly been a health regime in close season and he came of the bench looking sharp and scored a fabulous goal afrer some impressive build up play that he was involved in. Javlon Campbell looked very sharp up front. Defence was shocking albeit very makeshift and not heled by the other Sappleton ( Pat - nice to see him back !!) limping of injured after only 15 minutes. But Ryan Scott looks as though he is fast becoming a starting centre back. Let's hope we can get Billy back from injury because the lad in goal didn't have a clue. Overall a good game and performance on a baking hot afternoon. Oh and the ref. I didn't think he was that bad but it was clear he came from Hertfordshire !!
