Hereford United (A)

interesting they have only allowed 100 away fans, we probably wont bring that many on Tuesday but if we had played them on Saturday we probably would have and there will be a few teams who will bring more than 100 so will be interesting to see if they will be allowed in or not.

Sounds like it was a good game.Bummer we couldn't hold on for all 3 points.Bit of a kick in the teeth at the end with the Hereford equaliser but not a bad result considering.

My  only gripe,if it is a gripe,is why do teams that have a lead in the last 5 minutes play into the corners and stalling tactics, when it is in a league match,as it's not winner takes all like cup match.

Never used to happen, as much as it does now,

I would rather see the team pushing for another goal or two than this habitual, boring time-wasting but I might be in the minority.

We certainly didn't play for time. If anyone looked more like scoring when we were leading 2-1 it was us!

We're superb tonight. Very even first-half, but we dominated the second & fully deserved the win IMO, but that's football!

Can't pinpoint anyone who did not have a good night, stand out performances though from Dobbo, Clurgy & George Short though who were excellent for us.

Top support as well. 63 for a Tuesday night six-hour round trip was a fantastic effort. Credit to Tom who got the singers going without the usual suspects who normally lead the singing behind the goal.

Bugger. We didn't deserve that late Hereford goal against us. I thought in the first half we showed them a little too much respect and sat off them a bit too much. Admittedly their right wing back was lightning fast and front pair a handful too.

Having got in front and bringing Darryl on I thought we were worthy winners but just caught by a punt into the box. Dobbo was superb again tonight as was George Short and also Yorky who was a tower against a big physical front two.

The announced 63 away fans was more as that wouldn't have counted the 10 complimentary plus 3 others that didn't pay as they came in with us with no stewarding to tell them where to go and pay. Over 75 on a Tuesday evening with some of our regulars choosing to stay away is fantastic. Great support all night.

Tonight was a another night that I'm proud to be a rebel, travelling so far on a Tuesday in such numbers when some teams don't take that on a Saturday, and supporting the team all night. Great ground, great game and want to thank the players and managers for great performance which deserved 3 points.

Can only agree with what's been said so far really. The team were excellent, especially second half and once we got the second forward on, and the noise from our travelling support (twice as many as St Neots took on Saturday) was great. Really enjoyed that despite the late equaliser.

Thought that Yorke had a really good game winning pretty much every header, and Dobson continued his fine form. Definitely a step up in performance from Saturday, we just need to take the chances when they come.

Proud to be a Rebel today!

The next question is will that point be on the board at the end of the season?

Well done to all that travelled, I couldn't make it. Shame we couldn't hold onto what sounds like a deserved three points. But four points from six after two tough away games in four days is excellent particularly having had to go to full timers on a Tuesday. I'm also missing Saturday due to a prior commitment but hope there is a good crowd and atmosphere to welcome the boys back home. COYR

Well just parked my car in the old football club and it feels like I have come staright from the game to work.  I am shattered and my voice has gone but would I change any of it NO BLOODY WAY !

We were brilliant last night absolutely deserved the three points, but thats the way it goes, every player was mom the match in my opinon, so proud of my team.

The most worrying thing of the night was to open the programme and find that Jon and Neil were now managers of St Neots !!!  They changed the name on the front to Hereford V Slough Town, but left the date as Sat 9th August and then when you looked at the team sheet not a Slough player to be seen, they listed the St Neots team.

Come on Hereford if you cant get it right dont bother at all.

Well done to all the team, looking forward to Sat.

I could rant for a hour about Hereford.... Hygiene people need to look at that food stand and shut it down was disgusting... And as for the Chav who tried causing problems and trying to get some fans kicked out needs a long look in the mirror appalling. But I did think we deserved to win I thought we played brilliant and I gotta say well done to tom lathey for keeping the singing going my throat doesn't thank you but was Great for the team! Officials need to start watching the game more their players pushed elbowed and jumped all other our players I thought they were pros?

Morning everyone, just wanted to say a massive thank you to all those who made that trip last night. Hereford was even further than I remembered! To take that number of fans all that way and to make the noise that you did was just brilliant and all of the players and management massively appreciated it.

We were absolutely gutted not to be able to reward you with 3 points but I know from the comments on here and on twitter that you appreciated the performance and effort of our lads which we felt was was top drawer.

Feels like a loss when you concede that late but there were so many positives (will leave you to pick out the MOMs) and we are already looking forward to Saturday and the chance to get another win on the board.

2 games down and 2 games where the players have looked to be highly motivated and to have given everything

unrealistic to expect this to happen every game and we will have off days and days where its not quite clicking but as a fan all you can ask is for the players to give it a good go

at times in both games we have been exceptional and my only fear is we need to kill the game off better when we are totally dominant. both games we have only had a 1 goal lead when the opposition inevitably has a spell of pressure themselves.

we do of course have 5 or 6 important players to come back eventually some as soon as Saturday i believe. have to say the players that arguably filled in for some of the missing players have definitely grabbed their opportunity and not disappointed so wouldn't want to be Bakes and Unders having to pick a squad let alone and starting XI when more of those are back.

Banbury next who have lost 2 out of 2 so far but have signed a number of ex academy pros in the last few weeks. our home form was sketchy at times last season hopefully we can put in a performance somewhere close to the last 2 games and get another win

It was a tough first half.

We found it very difficult to get to grips with the way Hereford played with their attacking wing backs causing all sorts of problems especially Hereford's number 2 who often had acres of space and was lightning quick.

Second half was a totally different story. Not sure what was said at half-time but we started on the front foot, got in their faces and dominated the second half from start to finish and really should have scored one or two more to put the result beyond doubt.

Some very good performances again from all the players but my vote for the MOTM goes to Clurgy for his tenacious all action midfield display.

Well done to the players and management for another top performance and a great start to the season!

I'd been in two minds whether to go or not but really glad I did - a very enjoyable evening minus the travelling.

Hereford has some nice cheap pubs that sell good beer. We got chatting to some of their fans who were going to the protest and they admitted that they were very badly organised, but had no problem with Slough fans attending the game. I get the feeling that they have left it too late to start to mobilize themselves and were perhaps a bit complacent about the club when they were in higher leagues and the local boy made good who was their last chairman was using them as his personal plaything; racking up huge debts and sacking managers on long contracts left right and center. As I entered the ground the protest just looked like 50 odd blokes loitering around outside...the whole situation is very sad.

I thought it was a really good match and I felt we had done enough to win it but when you concede like that in the last seconds it feels like a defeat. It was funny because we were all praising Big George for taking one for the team with that foul and then they launch the ball into the box and score. Very disappointing as we'd defended the high ball so well throughout the game. But it was a great shift from our lads after a long journey against full timer players. My MOM was Yorkie, who was immense at the back but it was another game where everyone contributed. Some hard decisions for the gaffers on Saturday.

Finally...should we ever go back to Hereford I'll have to think carefully about what fingers I use to signal the score to their sensitive fans! To be fair, those stewards were as good as gold and I probably deserved more of a slapped wrist!

COYR!

All things considered a draw away from home is not to be sniffed at.For me our main concern is the same as some games last season, we don't see the game out when winning.

Man of the match for me was Dobson, much improved from last season.
