Hereford United (A)

As said before, why boycott away games? It doesn't make sense to me.

If they want other teams fans to boycott their home games, they should stipulate that they will return the favour by going to away games.

They wouldn't be putting money into the owners pockets and they would be saying a big 'thank-you' for not attending their home games, that's what I call solidarity.

ARAAS is also right in that arrogant people on their forum have said that they think this is the 'dog and duck' league for tin pot teams.

I'd guess this is part of the reason why they were so gutted when the new owners didn't pay the Bond that would have kept them in the Conference.

Because of these reasons I'll be going Tuesday.

It was one of Tommy Agombars 'advisors ' who used the phrase ' This is not the Dog and Duck and Tin pot league' in reference to the supporters trust games. The forum members have taken it on as a badge of honour and I,m very sure that Steve Easterbrook is not the kind of chairman that would treat our trust like that. Says a lot about the melt down the club is in.

I cant make Tuesday for other reasons, but if I was free I would follow SLOUGH TOWN FC - our club who still need as much support now as ever.

If Hereford want our support then they can start by giving us support in getting STFC back into Slough and write letters of support to Slough Council.

They can also show how important non-league unity is by coming to Slough on a Tuesday night in October.

Looks like Hereford want it all one way!

The Hereford supporters that I have been in contact with have not made any disparaging remarks about other teams in our league. One will not be travelling to away games as he sees that the club he used to support does not exist any more, another hasn't decided yet. However they were both thankful for the support that many have shown across the football community.

I won't be there on Tuesday as I don't agree with what 'Hereford United' are doing. I will donate the price of my ticket, burger, pint, programme and half-time Bovril to a charity far more deserving than the Tommy Agombar Property Foundation.

To Bakes, Unders and the players, sorry some of us won't be there but we hope that you win anyway!

Myself, like other people, are going purely because of their stance on away games.

Their attitude smacks of 'why should I spend my time and money on a team that I consider no longer exists'

I'm afraid supporter solidarity should be a two way street.

You would go for two reasons. 1. show the current owners that you are unhappy whilst not giving them a penny.  2. inform other clubs/supporters about what is happening and gain some friends for when a phoenix club is formed.

by not going all the other clubs and supporters will start to lose sympathy for you as it makes it seem like you don't care about them so why should they care about you.

Pretty simple really.

'Please help us get rid of our crooked owners by not coming to Edgar Street and putting money into their pockets'

As a thank-you we will not come to your ground and help your club out with much needed funds.

Gee thanks, really appreciate that!!

It doesn't really matter if they don't think Hereford United exists anymore, it's the principle of 'you've been kind enough to help us, so now we'll

help you'.

This has nothing to do with how football is run. They don't like the owner. I don't like that we've got no home ground, but I can't see them helping in any way.

OH! that right they are by taking much needed money out of our coffers by not turning up at our game.

BR, you're right that when this sort of thing happens to football clubs we all need to stick to together to get rid of the vermin that infest the clubs that we support.

I'm all for that but the Hereford supporters only seem to care about themselves by not going to away games.

A better PR exercise would have been for the Hereford supporters to make contact with other clubs supporters, explain their situation, and ask for their help, promising that they will attend the away fixture as a thank-you.

It seems that they've just taken the attitude of 'Hereford United is dead why should I go to away games' without any thought for other clubs.

Epicrebel makes a very good point here

There are slough fans who don't go because we are no longer at Wexham park. Should they be turning up to support our new ground or just boycott like the Hereford fans?

Have Hereford actually set up a Phoenix club or are they just waiting for the old to go busy first, in the case of FC united and Enfield they started their Phoenix clubs with the old ones still going

You've confused me on your first point Mark44 (which isn't hard lol).

It seems they've only set up a supporters team.
