Goodbye & best wishes to Wooz

Just seen on the website Dave Woozley has decided that he won't be able to do the travelling with us next season & is leaving the club .

Pretty gutted by that as IMO Wooz has been one of the best players to pull on a Slough shirt since we stopped playing at Wexham Park. An outstanding leader & will be very-much missed by everyone at the club.

Wish Wooz all the best.

To paraphrase a slogan from a lesser club...

Woozley - Captain, Leader, Legend

One of my all-time favourites, will never forget the celebrations at Rugby and Kettering, and it will be strange not hearing him barking instructions to the back line.

Thanks Dave, all the best for the future, you'll always be a Rebel!

Not completely surprised to hear this. Wooz has been a terrific servant to the club and is a top, top bloke. He was immense in the push for the play offs last year and was probably our best player the previous two seasons. Wish him all the best.

Very sad to see him go. One of the best players in the past 10 years and a great inspiration to those around him. I don't believe a player of his calibre would gain much (if any) satisfaction from step 5 football so we must wait and see where he turns up Thank you for some great entertainment Wooz!.

Great way to sign off though. Shook my hand at the end of the play off game and said "At last." Job done and can completely understand his reasons. Wish him all the best and will certainly be difficult to replace in terms of leadership and experience. Despite not necessarily being blessed with pace he always stood out as some one who had time on the ball and that is down to the fact he is a classy player who reads the game so well.

His leadership skills and assured presence and composure in defence will be a big miss for us this season.Understandable; his reasons for leaving.

Best of luck,Wooz !

He seems a top man on and off the pitch.

Bakes and Unders, certainly are getting their fair share of problems before a league match has even been played, what with all these injuries and now with probably their most experienced player leaving.

So much for the smooth, settled makeover of the squad. They're certainly aren't getting it easy.

Still, better to have these upheavals now, than have these problems half way through the season.

Noticed we had an experienced 'old timer' centre half turn out for us last night,if it is the same Gary McDonald that played for Woking. Didn't get to the game last night,so am not sure. Can anyone verify?
