Daily Mirror Buildbase Competition

Recommended Posts

The SSML's own Hertford Town FC have made the shortlist of 10 from 100's of clubs in the Daily Mirror's Buildbase competition to win a £20k clubhouse makeover.

Please support grassroots football and take a few seconds to click on the link below to vote for Hertford Town.

It will make such a difference to the club following the costs incurred during the recent flooding.

Thanks guys!

Would of voted but your manager is offering local players £30 a week to join...maybe not that skint after all.

One week you tell me our manager is telling everyone we're skint, the next you're saying he's paying wages. Neither is true. Where are you getting this information from, The Beano???

Controversial. I wouldn't expect anything less a st margs fan.

We should stick together in ssml, but st margs seem to go out of their way to try and make enemies with the other sides.

I'm all for sticking together believe me, very pro SSML but you can't be begging on 1 hand and offering players money out of the other.

Sorry chap if you have a problem understanding sarcasm.

Lol. Classic.

Anyway, I've just cast my vote and I hope they get the much needed investment they richly deserve, after a season of trials and tribulations. Blundellsands Lawn Tennis Club in Merseyside has always been close to my heart and I look forward to them scooping the big prize.

While I appreciate the flooding was bad- it affected a very good number of clubs, many in less fortunate positions than Hertford (as pointed out by Monkey).

While I do like Hertford and appreciate the damage the flooding did to a focussed community club which is sustainably run- I personally believe there were better causes to vote for, and voted accordingly. However I wish Hertford Town FC, a club I like very much, all the best.

Looks like Neutral and Monkey8 got their way in the end. Yes, there were other clubs in a worse state, but it would've been a real treat to have one of our clubs win it and see what they did with Hertford's ground.

Apparently it was just the two votes they lost by too.
