After seeing Windsor Rebel and Stuntman yesterday, you've got some catching up to do.

Rother, I thought that was your second friendly? so maybe not as rusty as you expected?

You say friendlies don't mean a lot but then you say good luck with what lies ahead because you might need it.

Do friendlies mean a lot or not?

RR, it was obvious Rother was going to post a few comments after the game, especially more so that they beat us, let him have this victory.

I think we all clocked that the 'you might need it' comment wasn't needed to be added on to the 'good luck sentence'. Clear side dig, but let it slide, only a friendly mate and apparently quite an important one to all involved at Windsor.

I genuinely wish our local rivals good luck for the coming season (no further comment to be added).

Bet you really wanted us to brag didn't you Matt?

Let you down there I'm afraid.

I genuinely think you will struggle - sorry but that's the truth.

I genuinely don't think Windsor will get promotion. Again, truth.

Football debates are all / only about truthful opinions. Anything else is pointless.

After one pre season game?

Didn't u also say last season we wouldn't get promotion? You are entitled to your opinion and after 1 game a lil premature

Who was the Slough trialist and what club is he from,by the way? He did a couple of clever turns.Certainly worth another few games to see what he's like against better opposition[no offence to Windsor intended].

Think Jamie McClurg will need to become more vocal if he is to be skipper of the side. As everybody else recognised, thought Luke Knight was first class and looks a leader.

Poor old Ben Edwards was given a torrid time in the first half by livewire Kane Jones. With Ryan Parsons,a natural left back, coming on that threat was snuffed out.

Didn't think either Reece Yorke or Tom Moran played well in yesterday's game but what's that really matter in a first pre-season friendly?

Guy Hollis made a difference when he came on.

I heard the Trialist was from Bracknell Town FC.

Can't recall his name but certainly worth a further look.

I thought Tom Moran had a reasonable game and didn't do a lot wrong.

RR, you remember correctly.

The lad who had played Conf South did start pre-season with us but we felt he wouldn't improve us due to the options we had in that position so we didn't take that one any further and wanted to give him a chance as quickly as possible to find another club.

The lad who had played premier football has joined another side in our division. We were only able to invite him down on a trial basis and the other club made him a firm offer which he decided to take.

There are still one or two more in our minds who could be worth a look and we'll obviously keep everyone posted of any squad developments in the coming weeks.

Just a quick one on the game from Saturday. I won't comment on the game itself or our performance as I wasn't there (I was at a close friend's wedding) but have obviously had a full de-brief from Bakes.

I thought his comment on twitter summed it up well...."might be pre-season but standards are and should be higher". We don't like to lose any game and from that point of view Saturday was clearly a disappointment and we don't expect to see any more performances like that. Having said that we have both been around long enough to know these things happen in pre-season. You only have to pick up the non-league paper yesterday to see plenty of examples of this.....Margate beating AFC Wimbledon 3-0, Welling beating a full-strength Charlton, etc.

Good to see our fans on here realising that too and not going overboard with the criticism! Maybe if you'd seen that performance a year ago (like you did at Wealdstone!) you would have been more worried and more critical but I think this group of players have done enough in the past year to be forgiven for one poor performance in a pre-season friendly.

It seems the majority of our players had an 'off day' which is very rare from our lads but there were one or two positives from the new players which was good to hear. Personally I can't wait for tomorrow's game at Marlow and I'm sure all our boys will be feeling the same way. Look forward to seeing many of you over there.

I remember when Slough v Windsor was always a very competitive game and regarded as important, but Slough always used to have more local plyers I suppose, which is something Windsor do have, so I think it was obviously much more important to their young local players to prove a point, so fair play to them they were much the better hungrier side. Something I cannot understand is that its not often over the years you see Slough beaten by a team playing pretty much park football as they were on Saturday. All in all it is only a pre season game but still a little concerning.

Terence your comment doesn't make sense. How can he be definitely suspended if the ref doesn't report it?

Was thinking the same. How can he be suspended if the Ref doesn't report it?

Guidance came out from the FA last season regarding dismissals in friendlies.  If a player is shown a red card it should be assumed that he/she is supsended from their next friendly, regardless of whether the referee reports it or not, mainly due to the time it takes to process the paperwork which most probably will take longer than the gap between each friendly.

If the referee has reported it, the FA may decide to increase the punishment or leave it as the one game automatic ban.

Reading between the lines of the FA guidance I would guess that they think the referee should report it but they also know that many will not bother and this guidance would appear at least to give a common understanding.

Yeah, couldn't beat a Slough V Windsor derby on boxing days / new years days.

A pity that the only time we will get to play Windsor is in friendlies or if were lucky the berks and bucks as they are for me the real local derby side over Burnham and Maidenhead (maybe not current stature, but historic).

I remember being gutted when Windsor beat us in the semi final of the berks and bucks cup at wexham park late 80s or maybe early 90s.

The problem is, teams to raise their games against us (pre-season or league). It does get frustrating when we lose to an average / poor side one week, then they get tonked by an ever lesser side the following week.

AFC Hayes one example.
