Windsor v Slough

Recommended Posts

Windsor fan tenuously sticking his head above the parapet here, but only to recommend a stop on your pub crawl. The Acre (formerly the Windsor Liberal club) does a lovely pint of real ale at an extremely reasonable price. I've heard the foods good too. It's open to non members and well worth a visit.

On the football front I'm fully expecting us to take a right good shoeing.

Thanks for the heads up, we'll try and squeeze it into our itinerary!

Following on from tomorrow's squad info, am I the only one a little bit disappointed that Jake Parsons will be missing a number of games at the back end of pre season (assuming this could be at least 3 or 4 out of 7 games).

It's a big season for the club and unlike last season I want to see Jake Parsons play a major part and in order for that to happen he will need to get himself as fit as possible.

I'm not sure missing so many games leading up to the start of the season will do Jake or the team any favours.

I know these things can't be helped but just a bit disappointed that it happens to be Jake.

Just on Jake, his girlfriend due to her job is only able to go away at certain times, and this usually happens to him pre season, so nothing can be done about it, whilst we always want everyone available for every game, this is rarely ever the case, and to be honest it actually can make getting people enough minutes slightly easier.:

What I will say is that he looks to have worked very hard this summer, and is in good nick currently, and the type of holiday he is going on he will be keeping his fitness up whilst away.

Cannot make it unfortunately but will be interested to see how our new guys get on.......

Are Rebels Radio doing pre season at all?

John is away on holiday at the moment, and I don't think there is any plans to commentate on pre season games, however I would expect that there will be interviews etc as usual, obviously once he gets back.

Just a reminder that there is an opportunity for you to support two Slough teams tomorrow.

Under 10s kick off at 1.30 with Alfie in defence and Ian as Referee. Come along and support the Rebels of the future.

Ian as referee....... That could be fun. Lol

Good to hear Jake is looking sharp. A fit Jake Parsons will be an asset this season.

Neil, when you say Jake and his girlfriend are on holiday, working on his fitness, you're not on about his bedroom exercises, are you? LOL !

Windsor FC sponsored by Thames Motors in Slough!

There are Slough companies wishing to sponsor clubs and lowly Windsor snaps them up - Windsor may well have links with them i.e. an employee of Thames Motors, but one more that slipped away from STFC.

An interesting point,Rebel1965. I do think Slough Town FC suffers from the negative image the town has as a whole.

Not many people across the country view Slough as a wonderful place. Shaking off the negative perceptions is no easy task.

Windsor connection to being a royal town must make attracting sponsorship somewhat easier ie prestige.
