Horsham Result

Thought we started brightly again and another early Hodge goal was soon followed up by a Wilko wonder strike as we blitzed the opposition early on. With the defence heavily weakened though they soon came back into the match and got their goal (another great strike) in the second half. Instant response from Boot which gave us a comfort zone again, and then Hyatt finished off an accomplished performance when he won the ball back off a central defender and was given what seemed like ages before he finally picked his spot and tucked home from about eight yards.

Yes I'd echo that, a great result considering our defence was threadbare - for example, Michael Gilkes was on the bench and came on to play in central defence for the last 20 mins or so. Horsham could and should have scored more goals - if they had a striker who could shoot straight they'd be lethal <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> - but we could also have had more, and could have had the game sewn up by half time.

Not just a good result but some good quality goals as well - bullet header from Hodge on 2 minutes (admittedly unmarked), great drive from Wilkinson after about 10 mins, a cracker from Boot from about 18 yards in the second half, and a cool finish from 'ratcatcher' Hyatt when put through on goal deep deep into stoppage time (about 8-10 minutes it seemed).
